Regretting ever planting bamboo. Now I'm trying to get rid of it. My poor little Kioti just bounces off it. I need some sort of spade to attach to my bucket to cut in under it. Something about 18" wide would be good. I have dug others out but this one is something else.

Have you tried stump kill with 25% Remedy / 75% Diesel?

You'll need to apply it to fresh cut stumps.

Got all the fields mowed at my parents farm, only expect about 500-600 small square bales... dad's MF135 has been down with fuel supply issues, so we took the BX1800 down to run the tetter... did a fine job! My wife ran that around the 3 fields I cut yesterday with our JD 3005/MF sickle mower, while I cut the last field and worked on the MF135. Got the MF135 running before we left for the day, will need that to run the wheel rake. Expect to bale some Friday and the rest on Saturday.

We sold this today for $3000, after dragging it out of the barn and spending a couple of days getting it running.
It was the first time it's seen daylight in 5 years or more and is going to need all new fluids and a few other things, but it will be a lot good tractor for the new owner.

Been a boring seat time the last two days,
chisel plowing one of the winter feedlot fields to seed it.
Yesterday was almost 7 hours of 3 and 4th gear a whopping 2 or 2.3 mph,
Today was better doing a second pass over the field able to run 5th gear about 2.8 mph.
Just got started on the headlands to finish up the field and a big ol thunder storm rolled in had to shut down, may get to finish tomorrow looks like we got 3/4" of water needed but wish it had held off for a couple of hours.

One more feedlot field to do next week and primary tillage is finally done for the year.

I worked on leveling a pad today. I was cycling the truck every 9 minutes loaded higher than the picture and we didn’t get even half done. Moving any amount of dirt takes forever. IMG_8876.JPGIMG_8875.JPG

What does that mean cycling a truck every 9 minutes, load, drive, dump....... Load in 5 minutes, drive 3 minutes, dump in 1 minute, your not getting paid by the hour are you.....................

No I’m not getting paid by the hour. I was loading in 6 minutes and it took the truck 3 minutes to go about 300 yards and back. And I was loading every grain of dirt that could be loaded. I put on at least 4 more scoops after I took that picture.

Your fast with that excavator, even on easy digging that sounds fast. So about 8-10 scoops in all?

Spent the last few days mowing a couple sections of the pasture. Nothing was too tall, just knocking down tall grass stems and bitter weed. Freshly sharpened blades on the flail handled it well.

I never counted but it’s more than that. The excavator bucket is about a half yard and I’m hauling about 10 loose yards on the truck. There was a CTL on the job to. The operator on it wasn’t very fast but even with him helping load from the other side of the truck 4 minutes was the best we could do to load. But judging by the bed gap over the tires the loads are in the 11 ton range so that’s still pretty fast loading with compact ish equipment digging packed dirt. If I was doing that every day aside from bigger equipment a bigger bucket in the excavator would’ve been a benefit and you need 2 trucks. Well we had 2 trucks but the pump went down on one and a dump truck that won’t dump isn’t much use. And a working AC in the excavator would be nice. Hardly any air moves through the cab and it’s miserable hot.

Jockeying the trailer into position for unloading. I am re-siding the buildings with California white cedar.

I had 6 loads of shale brought in Saturday morning . This will give me more room to move the vehicles and trailer around. 6 more loads in a few days. Nice easy loader work . After the next 6 loads I will smooth the top with the box blade and let it settle in. It will be nice to have more room.

Yes I think with a little rain and some driving on it , it will settle in and be quite nice !
Shale pits are common around here so it's cheap and easy .
Works for me . :D

Got a burn pile going today. Now that it is July 5th we should finally be in for a good stretch of summer weather as typical.

Three hours of bush hog time followed by deadfall tree cleanup over the creek. Two trees from neighbors property fell recently. It was finally dry enough and crops were taken care of so it was time to clean them up. The first was the top thirty seven feet of a tree, the other was two section of the trunk after limbing out that were roughly thirty two feet each. Neighbor will put them in his Hügelkultur since it is deadfall pine more than happy to let him have them at this point.

I need to start doing pictures before and after at least....

Minor wrench time as well with a split neoprene washer on the diesel drain plug. Pull it, measure it, put it back, wrap it with a compression sleeve, tighten it back down. No leak, ordered replacement. I had five orders from various dealers get cancelled because of “COVID-19” shipping issues. Micrometer and the internet to the rescue. Getting four for the price of one delivered to the mailbox. :)
