locknlube cupler for a grease gun

It can but it seems to grab on much easier and tighter than a standard coupler.

It sure is a lot easier to remove from the zerk too! :)

Good point! I forgot about that since I haven't used my old one ever since I got an LnL.

My complaint with the standard coupler is that sometimes the grease leaks out around the zerk instead of going thru it, even pressing as hard as I can on the hose/coupler. I guess the connection has to be square on.

Would not the LnL do the same thing?

I don't think so, at least not in my experience. With your standard coupler, are you loosening the jaws and then re-tightening them on the zerk or are you just leaving the coupler loose enough that you can remove it without ripping out the zerk?

I have a front trunion zerk on my compact tractor that has trouble taking grease due to the tight tolerance. With a manual 10,000 PSI lever-style grease gun with LnL coupler I cannot pump the handle as there is too much grease pressure. So I tried my Milwaukee M18 battery powered gun. It is also 10,000 PSI and has a LnL coupler. I got the zerk to take grease and none leaked out from the LnL... at one point I thought the grease hose was going to burst. ;-)

With your standard coupler, try tightening the collet so the jaws fit tighter. Also make sure there isn't leakage from the threads, if so tighten there. But if you tighten the collet too much you must loosen the collet to get it off of the zerk. Hence the problem with the standard collet system grease coupler. You have to find the "sweet spot" where you the coupler doesn't leak and yet you can still get it off. You are constantly either tightening or loosening the collet. This is why a LNL coupler is superior and faster and make greasing much more fun.

You wouldn't believe the number of folks I've encountered who have been using a grease gun for many years and never realized the collets were adjustable. :)

I will admit that I was one of them long ago. :ashamed:

I tried adjusting mine today, as I am still waiting for my xl to arrive and i couldnt get it to adjust. I can get them on the zerk, but getting them off is a chore. I cant wait to jump on the bandwagon when the xl comes. Hopefully it works as well as you guys claim. Maybe Ill get the m12 when i can find one under 100

Gotta say you have a funny sense of FUN !

But I do agree, power greaser plus LNL sure makes the task tolerable.
Saves clothing as a side benefit.

Learned a trick the other day.

Hands were extremely black, dirty greasy and the phone rang.
Had a can of WD40 nearby so I did a quick spray and grabbed a handy Scott towel to wipe the excess.
To my surprise my healthy pink skin was virtually like B4 I started the messy job.

The yucky greasy goop simply floated away better that most hand cleaners did.

I was so impressed with the way the LockNLube coupler worked and made greasing easier and faster, 5 years ago I paid another $30 for another one to put on the Lincoln:
