An Air Force Tanker Pilot doesn't need to use any hands :)

Also hoping Eddie is doing okay as can be expected.

Hope things are better today Eddie. Although having it myself, I know it most likely isn't any better today. It will most likely hang on for a couple weeks like mine did.
I'm still having some congestion issues, but about 90% better.

It's very odd how it effects people differently. I know of several in the hospital. I never developed any breathing issues, Just a lot of congestion.

Another thing is, My GF stayed with me the entire time, no mask, no nothing. she doesn't have it.
She is also a healthcare worker, so I figured her chances were greater than mine of getting it

It's going to take a while Eddie, but I hope y'all suffer no more issues associated with this virus...

There was similar experience in my brothers household. She tested positive and had a slight fever for a few days.

Brother and the two kids didn't have any issues what so ever.

It's a very strange virus.
My nephew lives in Peru got it a few months ago going to a Peruvian city. He's 40 and now fine. He said for the couple weeks he had it he would be sick an hour every afternoon is all. Very weird.
My 93 yo Mom's caregiver her daughter works in a local hospital and has it. The caregiver has to quarantine 2 weeks while Mom has a different caregiver. The daughter has a 20 something friend who is a fitness instructor, got it and died!

We had what I think was a cold virus go through our household in October. Daughter had a sore throat and coughing for a couple days then got better. Wife had sore throat for one day then got better with no other symptoms. I was OK during that time then it hit me and progressively got worse and worse, had sore throat, coughing, sneezing, fever, etc. Began to get better after 5 days but the congestion and cough stuck for a good two weeks after that and I would feel fatigued and weak with any sort of exertion. I wonder if it could have been Covid-19 but at the time the symptoms kept leaning towards a cold (there was a good symptom checker quiz on the CDC website that gave guidance between Covid, cold, flu, or allergies) and I never felt I needed to risk going out to see a doc or get a test.

Anyhow, for years, we have seem similar behavior when a virus goes through our family. It happened a lot when my daughter was in pre-school -- after going 5-10 years between getting cold/flu, I was suddenly getting it 3-4 times a year. My daughter almost always had it pretty easy. Usually my wife or I would get it a lot worse, but never both of us the same way, or never both at the same time. There was a wide range of severity across the three of us. In that sense, Covid-19 is no different than other viruses (of course, some cold viruses are also corona viruses). I think where Covid differs are the oddball symptoms like loss of taste and smell, and rashes, which are atypical for cold and flu.

I have a friend who is a firefighter, and Covid-19 spread through the fire house back in May. He only had sore throat and headache, but other guys had a wide range of symptoms. Some had none at all. Figure that was about a dozen guys and there was a big range of symptoms. I remember reading an article where Fauci was explaining that past exposure to certain viruses could affect how a body responds to Covid. All depends on how the immune system has developed in a person and how responsive it can be. I am sure this would all be fascinating to learn about if it wasn't hurting our economy and suppressing many people's jobs and lifestyles...

Most people who get Covid have mild to severe respiratory issues along with fever, headache, loss of taste/smell, etc. But, if you suspect you have Covid or do have Covid and lose your appetite, feel full all of the time, spotty diarrhea, stomach pain, etc., you may have a far more serious case of Covid intestine. This one is lethal, with only a 44% survival rate at the end of November.

I just survived 5 weeks of both Covid pneumonia and intestine, including 3 weeks in the hospital. My internal medicine doctor likely made for a successful outcome, even though her methods were described as unorthodox. But her patients have had a better chance of being discharged.

Similar in my home about 2 weeks ago. Everyone except my daughter got some illness which included loss of taste (my daughter actually tested positive for Covid at college and was sent home with the rest of her teammates). For the rest of us, I figured it could be Covid, but were not tested. We took proper precautions and just stayed home. Felt like the flu with loss of taste. We were all better a few days before Christmas. The body aches were what seemed to me the worst and made it unique from other illnesses.

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but thought it would be ok to mention that I was diagnosed with Covid on Tuesday. I’m 47 and healthy, and how I knew something was up is that I woke up Monday and couldn’t smell the coffee brewing, nor could taste it. My wife said go smell the Christmas tree and see what happens. Absolutely nothing!

I called my doc, and they said come in and get tested. That whole process took about 15 minutes and yep, I was +.

I removed myself from our house on Monday to limit any exposure to my wife and daughter, and so far (Sunday) they seem to be fine. My home has been my camp trailer, parked next to my shop, so being quarantined hasn’t been too awful, but not being with my family over Christmas sucked.

Regarding my symptoms-

It’s now Sunday, so I’m into this about a week from my first symptoms. At this time, I still have no taste or smell, but absolutely have no other symptoms or problems. I consider myself fortunate and while not totally out of the woods yet, I don’t think I’ll get sick.
I know for some people this can be a rough ride and I feel bad for them (hang in there Eddie and wife), but the vast majority of people will get thru it just fine.

Regarding masking, distancing, etc-

I have limited my time in public places since March, I work alone in my office, and I do wear a mask when I go into a place that requires it, which is basically all of them. It’s been a minor inconvenience at most. I believe that unless you totally isolate from society, you will probably end up getting it.
