This stuff gets heavier as I get older

I'm 37 and already find half of this stuff too heavy.... At 80, maybe a robot can pick me out of bed and put me on the tractor

What goes round.........If it looks like someone is having trouble, I always try to help them stack materials on their cart at lowe's. Once, I stepped out of line, helped the guy and when I went back to my place in line, some gal who had been watching gave me the stink eye. I was praying she would open her mouth but she didn't!

Yesterday I had to buy block mortar to seal the sewer pipes where they enter septic tanks. County next door says use foam! Every other bag of mix was 50 lbs but the mortar, sitting up at eye level, was 80 lbs and way above my head. I was struggling. Some younger guy pushed me aside, grabbed the bag, asked if I need another and smiled.

As cynical as I am I'm still very thankful there are good folks out there.

I picked up a 50 pound bag of lime for the yard last fall at Lowes....it seams like 50 pounds used to be a lot lighter.

I just went down and picked up 5 bundles of shingles to redo a shed roof, they seemed a lot heavier than I remembered them being. Think I'll take them up to the roof a few at a time.

"Picked up" 5 bundles of asphalt shingles at one time?
About 400 lbs?

ha ha. I could barely get one at a time on the trolly and after 5 I needed to sit in the isle for 5 minutes to catch my breath.

Yep, things get heavier as U age and have you also noticed that the floor is further away than it used to be?
I'm 82, haven't grown taller but my arms seem shorter, or the floor moved downwards.

Not only do things get heavier, the ground gets further away. When I need to pick something off the ground, I find that my bender doesn't work like it should.

LOL, my 'bender' works OK but only in one direction.
Often it wants to stay down.
