I took my stove to the local weld shop after drilling a hole at the end of the crack where the door cam lock kept it closed. They Mig welded the 3/16" steel plate. Ran the stove for another 6 years before replacement this last November.

When I was living in Arizona the rental repair mechanic put a radiator anti- corrosion/anti-rust inhibitor in the front end loader tires before adding the water. Might be something to consider? If not going with tubes.

Ethyl Mercaptan (the odorizer in propane) is heavier than propane and can possibly seperate out if not used for a long time. Or can be absorbed by rust in a tank. So you may not have the safety of being able to smell a leak under various conditions.

If the wiring compartment is readily accessible, I would bond the neutral and the ground at the generator for remote use. Just make sure any cords you use have continuity on the ground prong.
