    Great customer service from Dewalt

Thought I'd put in another good word for Ridgid. I purchased a QwikChute for my zero turn which required drilling through the mower deck. Pulled out my 18 year old Ridgid 18V drill and just as I got through the second hole, the drill died. Thought maybe the battery was dead so I popped in a...

    Cedar Porch Ceiling

I am having my porch remodeled and will be putting up tongue and groove cedar on the ceiling. Wondering if I should leave the cedar untreated or if I should at least seal it. It's protected from the elements so I'm wondering if it needs anything at all. Thinking about putting a clear Ready...

    Decent scratch resistant safety/sunglasses?

I've worn contacts for 30 or so years. A few years ago I made the switch to daily use contacts, which has worked out very well. I was not good at removing my extended wear lens at night and cleaning them, so the inside of my eyelids would get irritated and cause all kinds of issues. While the...

Do any of y'all seal, wax or ceramic coat your tractor??

Incorrect. From the turtle wax website and also on the bottle: Without a drop of water, the slick, spray-on formula helps safely remove dust and cleans the clear coat without scratching your finish, and it leaves a nice, streak-free shine and crazy water-beading protection, thanks to its...

What to Look for in Zero Turn Mower

Some have said on this thread that ZT's tear up your lawn. If you are tearing up your lawn with a zero turn, you aren't driving it correctly. Zero turn doesn't mean just whip around with the inside tire not moving. That WILL tear up your lawn. Do a "Y" turn and you'll be fine. Even a "Y"...

Curious - some of the rounds in these photos are anywhere from 21" - 24" long. For those who heat with firewood, would you split the difference and get 11"-12" pieces, or would you cut to the normal 16" - 17" length and have a lot of 5"+ end pieces. It all burns, so probably a moot point.

Good story! I disagree on the scalping part though. A 54" will scalp as easily as a 61" and if you are scalping your lawn you are mowing way too low. Mow high, mow often. Jut my opinion though

    Lawn Tractor vs Zero Turn

The products I owned were "residential" grade but a former co-worker bought one of their "almost commercial" grade ZTRs and that too was junk. The frame on the 33" walk-behind I bought cracked, same thing happened to former co-workers ZTR. The 33" walk-behind was purchased at an independent...

    Lawn Tractor vs Zero Turn

Based on my experience with Cub Cadet, I would not buy another nor recommend anything Cub Cadet. Pure junk, in my experience. Have you considered a stand-on mower? From what I gather they are much more agile than a ZT, and you can stop and get off them much quicker if you need to pick...

1.5 acres. Am I nuts for thinking about a tractor?

Definitely saves a lot of time and hassle, but not a cheap investment by any means. You have to consider the cleaning of those lines and maintenance of the pumps, squirrels and deer and other animals chewing on the lines, damage to the lines from trees and tree limbs, etc. My next improvement...

1.5 acres. Am I nuts for thinking about a tractor?

I'm in Charlton, NY on 5.5 acres and have a maple syrup operation. 100 taps all on buckets. My stone "road" that goes around the perimiter of the property goes from snow to sheer ice to mud then back to snow then ice then mud, rinse and repeat, during suagring season. I use my little Kubota...

Doesn't get much better than a pontoon boat on a beautiful lake! Yes the little lake has always been a mess! Apparently they stopped using the harvesters for a while and went to chemicals on the big lake, but I thought they had brought back one harvester for the little lake. I could be wrong...

    Michelin CrossClimate2

Not sure where you are reading your reviews, but I put the Continental CrossContact LX25 on the wife's Acura RDX and they are far superior to the Michelin's that came with the vehicle. The LX25 gets 4.5 stars on TireRack, the LX Sport version doesn't get as high of a rating. Maybe that's the...

I'd like to add that an AHI of 10 or less is considered good by sleep doctors and in comparison to an AHI of 60 without a CPAP it is much better, but in reality your AHI should really be 2 or less. A friend of mine who also suffers from severe sleep apnea took a look at my data when I first...
