TYM 474 third arms not functioning

I'm not familiar with third arms, I guess you mean the 3pt is not operating. Did he check the lever between his feet under the seat, at least that is where it is on mine. It is easy to hit it and disable your 3 pt. I am not sure about the bubbles in the sight glass, perhaps manually lifting the...

    To CAB or NOT

After almost 14 years in an open cab, I would definitely recommend you getting a cab! I have a long driveway and large parking area to plow or blow in the winter. Often I would use my ATV and plow to clean up the smaller snow events. This year I bought a side by side with a full cab and heater...

What did you do for your tractor today?

This winter my tractor has lived outside under my lean to, and the original battery (13 y/o) froze during a really cold spell. I added an exterior outlet under the lean to for an LED light and a battery tender to keep the new battery fresh.

Odd situation with shear pins and my blower

I'm glad we discussed this. As I was going through the info from my blower manufacturer, the auger bolt is a grade 2 not a grade 8. I'm glad I got that straightened out, now I will double check that the stock I keep on the tractor are #2 not #8. The PTO shaft is still a grade 5. :)

Odd situation with shear pins and my blower

Robert, Just a suggestion, since you purchased the blower used, double check on the grades for your shear pins. I'm not saying this had anything to do with your issue. My Meteor blower takes a grade 5 on the PTO shaft and a grade 8 on the auger shaft. My first couple of seasons I thought I...

Normally my tractor is in the pole barn in the winter, heated to 40. Battery turned into an ice cube

Yesterday, in preparation for a predicted 9-17 inches of snow starting tonight thru Thursday I thought I would fire up the tractor and get the snowblower attached to the 3pt. I have used it for our last two snow falls and it does as good a job as my ATV did and the heater was GREAT. TYM T474 TX47 loader pallet lift capacity

If the specs say the FEL can handle it there should be no problem. Taking it out of a P/U should be simple as you only have to raise the pallet an inch or so then drive back. I would make sure you have some rear ballast to offset the front weight. Worst case, you off load some of the pellets...

    Best Gloves for Handling Firewood?

I use the HF rubber coated gloves for handling firewood. The palms grip damp wood well and they last for a cord or two. For the price around a buck and a half now, their worth it. I still use leather gloves for cutting wood, chainsaws don't mess around.
