2014 GM trucks recalled. DON'T DRIVE!

Wouldn't hurt my feelings much if they did. I'm not a fan of GM but I do like the trucks. If GM went belly up I'd just go buy a used Chevrolet truck when the time came or hopefully be able to strike a deal with Ford finally. Maybe even look at a Tundra. I'll never own another GM car, but I've always had good service out of their trucks.

I drive Ford and Lincoln products and have for years. My home town ford dealership is horrible. Pushy, unprofessional sales personnel and a not so good service department. I drive 90 miles to another dealership if I trade vehicles or if I need something repaired. The difference is night and day in the two places.

I have said that I would never own a GM/Chevy, but earlier this month we bought a '05 GMC Yukon XL with the SLT package. I flew down to Raleigh, then drove it back up and man that is a nice driving vehicle. It has 109k miles on it and we hope to get a trouble free 100k miles out of it.

Needed to seat 7-8 people with their gear and was tired of minivans nickle and dimeing me. I looked at Ford and Dodge, but the Durango/Expedition have no space behind the 3rd seat (while getting the same MPG as a Suburban) and the Expedition ELs I could find were few, far between and out of our price range.

My two local Ford dealers are the exact same way. One got such a bad reputation that they changed the name of the dealership....same sorry management runs it though.lol Both Ford dealerships are still calling me almost 3 months later after I bought my Silverado. I warned them I was buying that day and to give me their best price, no messing around. They didn't and now they claim they can give me that price. Sorry, too late, I don't operate like that. You had your shot and you blew it.

Sort of like the local Dodge dealer who wanted a copy of my DL to go take a look at a vehicle on their lot (not drive it, I was on my lunch break and just wanted take a look at it so I could see if it was what we needed)... Needless to say, despite having used them in the past (and my MIL having purchased a car there a few years back), they wont make another sale to our family...

This is 100% correct. GM is making the best stuff they ever have. My company just got 12 new 5.0L F150's and 4 1500 Sierra trucks. It's the first time I can honestly say GM is on par with the Ford's on fit and Finish. Prior to that the GM's we had were 2008 models. All together we have 250 trucks. We have 4 Dodges, about 75 GM's, and the rest Ford's.

In all honesty the GM gas trucks are tough to beat. They are not flashy but very reliable. Tranny's have been decent but we have had a few get stuck in Reverse. The Ford 350's and up with the 6.4 and 6.7 are bullet proof. We have a bunch of them upto F550's with dump beds.

I'm getting a F150 Ecoboost FX4 here in the next two months to replace my Titan.

May want to stick it out until October. You will either get a great deal on a 14 or a newly designed 15 with possible greater payload with the 700 weight saving aluminum. If I was stuck on ford, I wouldn't buy it until the 15'S hit roll out.

And before you all bash GM for this tie-rod problem, keep in mind there are many of us with mid 2000's Ram 3500's that have our tie-rods fall off every 50,000 miles. And I didn't see a big stink made about them.

My 2011 RAM 3500 has a recall for the left-side tie rod issued late last year. The dealer has a list of 50-60 trucks to do and no parts. The original recall replacement part was itself recalled. As of now, they can only get more replacements when they send in a completed recall paper.

I have thought about that. I have the chance to buy a 2012 off lease by my father for $23,000. The NADA on that truck is about $35,000. It only has 30,000 miles and his lease is up June 29th.

It's a loaded FX4 Supercrew. Silver with Black Leather. Trailer Brake controller, locker, 3.73 gears, back up camera, 7700# GVWR, ect.

The reality is I can buy it cash. No payment is nice. I will then trade it in when the 15's hit the road and sell it for more than I got in it.

This is the type of math I like.
