Skidsteer attachment called the “Beak” grapple especially made for pad removal.
Right equipment makes any job look easy.

Without seeing and knowing your requirements if the current concrete could be incorporated as base. Will your new drive need to support 80K truck?

My father built several hundred feet of retaining walls, flower bed landscape wall, and a set of stairs 90' down an escarpment all from broken driveway and sidewalk pieces that he'd pick up at various locations.

My wife tells me that in the fancy home fashion magazines, stacked chunks of concrete slab to make walls are called "urbanite".

When we were looking for the place we eventually bought we looked at one where a previous owner had gotten a bunch of broken concrete slab and mortared chunks together to cover about an acre of the property. Supposedly that was in response to the '89 earthquake which was epicentered near by- he thought the slab would hold the ground in place.

Good point on the requirement of new pavement. I went with 12' wide, 6" thick, 6 bag mix and fiberglass and it hasn't broke with the propane and septic trucks. The Beak looks like a valuable attachment.

I could see the beak being handy. We have used the glacier extreme duty grapple. It’s a monster and nothing bent or damaged. Nice to have a grip when pulling concrete away from walls.

Around here, I know people who will get come get that driveway for fill. They use it for riprap.

Not sure what numbers you are referring to in my post. But nothing too controversial in what I said. 1 day rental to pile up concrete in a way to haul it out is doable for me. But I am told I am pretty fast…
You cant move that much material in 8 hours with a skid and rental dump trailer.

I guess I wasn’t clear. I said rent a skid steer for an 8 hour rental. I said find a dump trailer to haul it out. I am 4 hours from a dump. So I wouldn’t assume more than 1 trip for myself in a day. I would assume it would take me close to 3000 miles on my truck to dump a driveway. So that would take me 6-8 months. Pretty long rental…

Find a trucking company to do the hauling. Do all of the demo first (a couple days) so you will be ready to just load when your truck(s) arrive.

You can call around to the local concrete recycling centers that will take the clean concrete and ask if they know any trucking companies that could haul for you. Around here the recycling only is about $150 for a truck, or a bit less for a tandem trailer if you have a 1 ton truck and want to do the hauling yourself. I paid $500/load for a 20 ton truck (including hauling and recycling fees) but we only filled it half way that time.

If you have the land, you could also bury the broken concrete in an area that you don't need to worry about.

Here's my brother's driveway that we demo'd. This is about 50x20 feet / 1000sq ft. Took all day including four trips to the dump with a tandem trailer.

Keep in mind that you will definitely want a grapple bucket/rake if you are recycling as without it you'll pick up enough dirt to annoy the recycling center, or maybe even get your load rejected.
