YEP, they are essentially the same. Pick a color.
Are all sub-compacts equal? No, there's a pretty big range of capability within that category. Take a couple of similar models and you can see huge differences. For example, a Deere 1025R is a popular model that has 18hp at the PTO, weighs around 1,500lbs and can lift 825lbs on the FEL to 71" max height. Compare this to an LS J2023 which also has 17.5hp at the PTO, weighs around 1,500lbs, and can lift 1,270lbs to 85.7". That's a huge difference in loader capacity, and lift height for machines that are otherwise very similar. You would have to go to something like a Kubota B26 to get similar loader capability. Whether this difference in capability matters to someone is a different question.
Granted, that's just one spec, but it points out that there are some pretty big differences when you start looking at various models and particular capabilities.
Thanks for everyones thoughts on this issue. I like red, yellow, green and blue, even orange is OK so color I could care less about however having a smaller physical size but strong and safe (relative to the oop's factor) is the key.
Thanks
Chris
I am pretty sure the LS J2023 is a lager machine than a 1025r.
The 30 is IIRC the one I saw and it was larger. I have never seen a New Holland 25. Are the New Holland in fact LS machines?
What qualifies as a subcompact is also debatable and can depend on who you talk to. In this "class" I like the Mahindra Maxes, LS, Kioti CK2510. Some would argue that some of these are not SCUTS. I couldn't (and won't) argue either way. I know some are far away, but might be worth the drive to see what others might offer. Once you buy it, your need to visit the dealer should be very minimal. My first choice would probably be the Mahindra Max28XL for the combination of HP and lift.
