I've been busy, really busy the last few days. So here is the update. Last post was shot in the door of the N/W corner of the barnshop. This had the only flooring left in the structure. Unfortunately they installed it sometime after the N wall had settled and pushed out at the base. I raised the wall and leveled it E to W but could not set it vertical as the floor was pushing it out (N).

I took the floor out in 3 big sections, took a sawzall to the joists and put the forklift under it and lifted. Not quite as easy as that sounded but easier than pulling it one board at a time. This place has so many nails in it if you could put a big enough magnet over it you could lift it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

North wall after floor removal, you can see the piers and spacers I used to block it up. The base beam is also 3 seperate sections with an open space instead of 2- 16' sections. I was thinking about keeping an access door here but decided to remove the interior base beams so I will not need outside access on this wall. So I have been hunting for some replacement beams.

I found 6- 6"x8" beams in the classified 4- 14', 1- 20', 1-22' for 200.00.

North wall now set on 2 new 16' beams.

Ran into a little trouble lifting the wall, turns out that the dirt topsoil close to the wall is only a couple inches thick it is still wet sheep stuff underneath. Forklift sank when I was turning it around after lifting the wall. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Some signs of old age, this is an old insulator for the electrical back in the day. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I think thats just a spiderweb, but I did find this (previous owner perhaps).

I found this today, I know it looks like it is visible. It is behind the N tree and when you are standing you don't see it. So one more to change out........

Hung 3 new loft beams today, adding another 12 x 24 section.

These were 4 x 8 inch beams, I notched in 2" on the truss for a little extra support.

This is the other side of the rotten beam I found today, no apparent damage from the inside......
