Transition to EV's will be more valuable to some people than others. China and India are far ahead because they are choking on emissions and are force to do something. The US, not so much, but states where gas is $4/gallon and hydro electricity is cheap, are more likely to be early adopters.

But I thought hydro was Evil ?

Speaking of socialism - from Wikipedia ...

The Rural Electrification Act of 1936, enacted on May 20, 1936, provided federal loans for the installation of electrical distribution systems to serve isolated rural areas of the United States.

The funding was channeled through cooperative electric power companies, most of which still exist today. These member-owned cooperatives purchased power on a wholesale basis and distributed it using their own network of transmission and distribution lines. The Rural Electrification Act was also an attempt made by FDR's New Deal to deal with high unemployment

This is how we get our power in rural Wisconsin. The customers are the owners. It was a godsend that helped electrify America when corporations wouldn't.
Does your co-op run ads on radio saying they are local provider. I hear lots of ads from southern Indiana. I have never been in area where I had choice of provider

Miles per dollar paid for fuel is a significant measure, however illness caused by pollution is a cost that is real but isn't recognized in that calculation. Likewise, the greenhouse gas caused global temperature rise that the Greta generation fears, or the military cost for example in Syria right now to 'Preserve Our Energy Future'. We could ignore the entire Middle East like we ignore for example Somalia, if we weren't dependent on the oil there to help maintain the stability of our economy.

"Greenhouse gasses" are not a problem and never have been. The "science" making those claims is demonstrably shoddy. It wasn't until power hungry politicians saw how Al Gore got traction with climate F.U.D. that this became a "problem."

The Earth's climate has always been changing. It used to be much hotter, then the dinosaurs died out when it cooled to something near current temperatures. I guess you can blame that on "oil" too.

Many climate "leaders" have blatantly stated their goal is not climate but to establish themselves in a totalitarian anti-capitalist one-world government. Paraphrased, "Clearly we can not effect the necessary changes without totalitarian control over people and economy."

Transition to EV's will be more valuable to some people than others. China and India are far ahead because they are choking on emissions and are force to do something. The US, not so much, but states where gas is $4/gallon and hydro electricity is cheap, are more likely to be early adopters.

China and India are excellent examples of how totalitarian government is the problem not the cure. American gas burners are 99% cleaner than automobiles they use. There is no reason they couldn't, they freely steal our technology everywhere else.

To China's credit they are building nearly all the world's new nuclear power plants.

You read the climate doomsayers websites. Try some balanced views:

This arrived in my driveway 6 years ago. I've never claimed it was saving the Earth, quite to the contrary as it represents at least $100k of unnecessary consumption. But it is a whole lot of fun!

Gale... Have a little very astute cartoon for you....

How it play in the end... Why I won't have an electric vehicle, farm tractor or bicycle for that matter....

5030 do you have any links to science to show any factual meaning to the cartoon you posted?

So much for geen community, energy projects.

My Lady friends employer built a new office building in an industrial park, "featuring" a centralized heating and cooling plant run by the city. They could not control the temperature and had to make constant telephone calls to the city. Then, the city announced the system would be shut down as not enough users are on the system to make it economical and the customers would have to get their own systems. My lady friends boss looked at her contract, contacted their lawyer and now the city (meaning the little old lady and man paying their taxes on a pension) have to pay the two hundred grand for a new system. Never mind the Millions wasted on the plant!

That is great news. WM is doing this with this company along interstate routes first I understand. You can shop in the store and get a message when you are charged. I think the $18 per hour is better than at some WM stores I was reading about. Paducah KY WM and Mt Vernon IL stores has them already. Paducah is 50 miles away and after I learn a bit more about my battery's health I plan to drive over and see the charging results. I think our 2016 Nissan Leaf SL may have only been charged mostly with the 120 volt OEM cord based on the info on average it was charged after every 30 miles of travel. Test results have improved some over the last two weeks since I have 240 volts that will let the max 26 amp rate be sent to the traction battery.

The EV market will continue to grow and for a large part of it battery energy will suffice...but technology will evolve with a more efficient alternative to batteries especially for taking the place of what most of us consider daily drivers etc...

Although the numbers will drop drastically gas (petrol) stations will still be around when the typical public charging stations have gone the way of the phone booth...!

EV痴 will not evolve as there are no appreciable advances in batteries , chargers ,
Motors etc .
