Take off the hoe, put a ball hitch on the back, put it in 4WD with the diff engaged, low gear and go. If that fails, get one of these and hook one end to a tree and the other to the front weight support and use its remote to get you moving.

hmm, as my father says use your hydralics to get out of stuck places. i see he has his back hoe on. why not extend the backhoe as far it would reach and attach chain to nearest tree and curl in ? once he gets most of trailer out of water, i suspect he can move the boat after wards in more firmer ground. i agree with one of members to let about 5 pounds or so out of the tires to allow it to float on the sand to gain little more surface area for more traction. hope u dont bow the loader bucket any further then u have. ;)

if the issue is really just traction you might get some 6' sections of 9 gage chainlink fence, lay it over the sand and use it for traction. you would have to secure it in a few spots so it doesnt get balled up.
just a thought, has worked for me in the past and would be alot better looking than trenching that beautiful site.

Don't I? Then perhaps you could explain the problem. Youve posted two pictures but havent actually explained whats going wrong. I'm guessing, when you try to reverse, your back wheels spin uselessly, and your little front wheel is perhaps digging itself into a hole. My guess is youve got a ton of weight on those little tyres but nothing on the rears.

All 4 tires spin and dig in at about the same rate.

Just 2 feet earlier it could pull the boat out (but it was not deep enough for boat).

Like I said earlier, I bounced the FEL a bit and it had no tendancy to lift the rear at all. The weight on the back wheels is good. Maybe not perfect, but good.

The tires are good too. I was using the box blade in sandy gravel going up hill with a full box. The engine was starting to give out before the traction did.

I can turn on a dime on the lawn it it does no damage either. I couldn't be happier with tires.

I might try letting air out. I admit it's asking an awfull lot of this tractor to pull it out. It takes everything the jeep has to get it out. 4WD low with a running start.

My neighbor tried to get his 14ft aluminum boat out with his ford expedition. His expedition just digs in without the boat even attached.

.

Sorry to disagree but the weight on the back is not 'good.' In fact I think its pretty obvious from the pics and the bend in the bucket that its very bad. especially when you are facing down hill like you are in the pics. I've got a tractor bigger than yours, with a backhoe, and it loses rear wheel traction when its just pushing into a pile of dirt with an empty bucket. You are trying to reverse uphill with the weight of a boat on your bucket! The back wheels are spinning because they have no weight on them. (By the look of it they are not even digging in.) The fronts are spinning because they are too small for sand. You have to turn it around. I don't care if you build a concrete slab under the tractor, you are not going to pull the boat out like this. Letting air out of the tyres won't help either.

Turn the tractor around. Get some weight on the back wheels. Back it in a bit further to break the trailer out of its hole if necessary . Then come out as fast as possible. (At an angle if necessary). If that still doesn't work, THEN you can resort to all those other creative suggestions.

I'm outa here now. Said my bit. Good luck.

I tend to agree with removing the BH and hook the trailer to the back of the tractor and try that. It won't cost you anything but time. You have a lot of weight on the bucket and its moving the center of gravity way forward on the tractor. So the BH is less effective as a counter weight. Thus you are not getting the best traction from your strongest pulling tires which are the rears. Give it a try if it doesn't work then try one of the other suggestions....its possible the tractor is just to small for that size boat.

Good Luck

Cmon guys you are making this way too complicated. Just turn the tractor around and let it work like its supposed to. Theres clearly not enough weight on the big tyres at the moment.

I think it's even more simple than that. Trying to do to much with to little. Sand, water, sinking.

Downsize the jeep, upsize the tractor!

MSWLOGO Sorry for the hijack but where did you get the clamp-on receiver? Thanks!!

Downsize the jeep, upsize the tractor!

Best logic I've heard so far!!!

"Honey, we need a bigger tractor, I just cant pull the boat out with that small little BX......"

**** YEAH!!!

I think that is the solution mswlogo is waiting to hear...?

just kiddin btw msw...

The BX-24 appears to be strong enough, but the tires are just too small to grip the sand with this load. You can see in first photo the ratio of the tractor to boat and the pitch. In second photo you can see the bucket bending from the togue weight. I was really hoping I could downsize my Jeep.

I admit that I haven't read the whole thread but has anybody suggested getting some chain so you can pull from a level spot off of the sand?
