I am wondering if anybody has upgraded the headlight bulbs on a BX tractor.I was using my BX 2360 near dark and had to use the headlights to finish mowing. The light pattern seemed broken with no clear concentration of light, not a whole lot better than my old Sears mower. They certainly are no where as good as the headlights on my 3240.I think the lights are halogen but I am not sure.Maybe somebody has replaced the bulbs with LED's or HID's.If so I wonder if it made the lights usable or is auxiliary lighting the best way to go.I don't really want to put lights on the rollbar as they might get caught up when mowing around trees. It would be nice if the headlights were brighter and more useful.

I know where youre coming from. The headlights are awful, particularly if the loader is on.

I dont know what bulb style the BX takes, but there are kits on Ebay for HID conversions that fit many different bulb styles, might be a good option.

I plan on adding LED worklights off the side of the rollbar. I have the lamp, just need to build the mount.

Deere has a great system on the 1000 series, aux lights mounted right where the PTO and 3pt levers are, nice and close to the tractor. Id imagine those lights would be available at deere and could be modified to fit the BX as necessary.

First thing I did when I bought my new tractor and knew I was getting a FEL, I put the Kubota aux work lights for their zero turn mowers. One light forward and one behind. Each light has its own switch. I can mow with just the one light. It works great.

Try this magnetic light. It cost me about $40 from Northern Tool. Simply plug it into your 12-volt accessory port. That's if you have one.

I was in the same shoes as you when I first got my BX. I thought about changing out the bulbs - but it was too expensive to try and see 5 yrs ago. Might be cheaper now. I just ended up mounting flood/work lights to the rops. I have 2 forward and one reverse and I love it. Its so much easier to see esp. it lights up my steering wheel and area so I can see other things as well.

DDM tunning has HID conversions. All of the guys on the Mustang forums speak highly of them.

How much do those lights cost? Did it include the brackets?

The size of a bixenon kit is too big to fit in the space . The exhaust muffler takes
the space ( and produces considerable heat too ) that the lighting kit needs. Attach to the bar or the bull-bar in stead

Everything came as a kit. Brackets are painted to match the same color as the ROPS. The look OEM. I think they were around $85.00-$105.00 I was using them last night and one is plenty bright enough to work or mow with. They are worth the price for what they look like and for what a Kubota tractor cost, it's practically a bargain.

I think its this kit...

Thanks, that gives me something to think about. I have set of leds I have been messing with on the rops but I have not got anything I like yet as far as looks and function.
