BX24 rear remotes/hydraulic top link

I looked at the one on SSB. No telling who makes them or where to get replacement parts or anything. Insufficient info to make an imformed purchase decision. In my opinion, this means buyer beware.

Sorry, I'll stick to known good working valves that I can get serviced or parts for. If you are on a cheap budget then go ahead any buy cheap unknown parts. If you want something that has been proven to work in your application then buy accordingly and pay a little more and sleep better at night.

MadReferee, thanks for your words of wisdom.

I just thought I could post the hydraulic section of Princess Auto Parts catalogue...Prince is pretty good too.

Stef, thanks for posting the Princess pdf. That's a great reference doument. I like their products too. They manufacture fine hydraulic cylinders and their email sales have grown considerably in recent years.

Hmmm... Prince and Princess...
I wonder if these two share more than an interest in "hydraulics".

Just so you have an idea of how the Kubota valve mounts on the BX here are some pictures of the two spool setup, I added the BX-23 backhoe hyd. setup and attached the new valves to that to eliminate the lines running to the front valve. As far as a hyd top link, I could not find one short enough so I bought a cylinder and welded new ends on it, no check valve but it has worked very well so far.

That’s a great post Scott - thanks!

Is it correct to assume that the Outlet port on your BX23 goes to the Inlet port on the valve, and that the Inlet port on the BX23 goes to the Outlet port on the valve?

HarleyScooter,

Very nice installation!

Are you happy with the cylinder with no check valve? Do you experience a great deal of leak down?

I have found cylinders with swivel ends that are the right size, but am concerned by the fact they don't have the check valves.

Thanks,

lp333, I will go out and check the hose routing in the morning, and get back with the answer, I don't want to rely on my memory and be wrong?
Renob, yes I am very happy with the top link cyl. I would like to have the double piloted check valves but it works without them so far. I have used the back blade alot for snow plowing and the cylinder has never moved on its own even when the blade hit joints in the concrete and stopped the tractor. I think as long as the cylinder and valve are good and don't bypass it will be fine, but sooner or later the seals may start to bypass some fluid and cause a problem.

I had a similar setup on my former BX23. The valve was connected to the backhoe outlet. As you can see on the second picture, the valve is disconnected and the quick couplers of the in and out hoses are connected together for storage purpose (background).

lp333, I went out and checked the plumbing and this is how it is set up, all reference is from standing behind the tractor looking forward.
The backhoe line on the left side of the 3 point goes to the remote valve inlet.
The backhoe line on the right side of the 3 point goes to the power beyond port on the remote valve.
And the outlet from the remote valve goes to a fitting on the right side of the rear diff/ trans, this is the return to tank line. I had to add this fitting and hose because the BX23 only used two lines.
This is the way a BX23 is set up, I do not know if the BX24 is the same or not since it has been said that they are equiped with 3 lines from the factory.
Good luck I hope this helps.

That's the power beyond line from the previous valve.

This port continues the hydraulic circuit to the next valve in series.

A perfect installation.
