ss burners rust out. cast iron burners and grills are the way to go!.. >lifetime..

One would think. I bought a Charbroil 13 years ago which was all stainless and hard plastic. Stainless flame tamers over burners warranties for 10 years, cast iron burners 10 years.
At 9 years I inquired about new flame tamers as they were rotted away and was told they were under warranty yet. News to me because I though only the stainless cover and other stainless parts were covered. They sent out three new tamers under warranty which normally sell for $30+ apiece. Six months later I figured I would test the burner replacement warranty system. Taking them out I could see they were in rough shape and would have caved in in at most couple more years. They were $30 apiece also. Actually I kept one that was the best as a spare and the other two kind of crumbled in half.

My wife wants a new grill now also, but I know from having a heavy duty grill with good burners, they won't last but 5-10 years at the most, so I am keeping the one I got knowing the burners and flame tamers will last 6 years then they will be toast.

I had a few of those early on, they worked good for a few years, well worth the money IMO if you don't mind replacing them every three years.

The Ziegler Brown looks like a Q but has a lot more options available and you can cook with the hood open if you want, I always thought the Weber Q was the best until I got this.

Having said that we were at a pony club and their BBQ threw in the towel at lunchtime and we managed to cook sausages and hamburgers for 40 on the Weber Q 200 a few years ago, we staggered the groups to do it but we got there and everyone was happy.

My neighbor spent $800 on a Weber gas grill 20 years ago. After going through a mess of cheap grills, I finally bucked up and got a Weber...

I also have a cast iron smoker and recently bought a pellet smoker/grill for the lake house.

Another weber fan here. No more replacing cheap grills every few years.

I am assuming it is universal but Weber offer a lifetime warranty on all their range here, I heard of a timber handle breaking on an old kettle BBQ and they replaced it with a complete new handle.
I think the same applies to the grills on the Q if they break.
Our old Q has 'bald' patches where the finish has flaked off but it still works as well as it did but I could never get a good sear on a steak despite pre heating for 15 minutes.

I read most of your requests and didn't see anything about it needing to be inexpensive, SO...

This sounds like the ultimate grill for your needs, and mine:laughing:, so, if you buy one, buy two since I showed it to ya.

No idea how to find everything that's on your wife's list. Probably best to just let her pick it out so you wont have to hear about getting the wrong one.

My wife also wants a gas grill so she can cook quickly in the winter months when it's cold out. We have a few requirements, but nothing too special. What I've learned by reading reviews and looking at what's available at the local stores, is Weber is the gold standard. They cost more too, and I'm not sure if it's worth the cost or not. I did find some at Home Depot that I really liked that I'm leaning towards.

One of the things that I read over and over again in the online reviews was that the ceramic coated cast iron grills on the grill tend to flake off and get into your food. For me, I want stainless steel grilling grills. I think they will be easier to replace, and more sanitary.

The other big issue for me is that it has four wheels. It has to be easy to move around from the storage area, to the cooking area. With the space that I have available, this is a top priority for me.

Webers are pricey but worth it IMHO. The "wear" parts are available locally and they just seem to last longer than the $200 grills. I have a 6 burner Summit (used once or twice a year for big gatherings...a real gas hog) and a newer 3 burner Genesis. I had to search hard for one without a side burner (never use it and I find them to be wasp magnets). I have rotisserie kits for each. They also make a more budget friendly model but sitting side by side you'll notice the difference in materials.
