Hopefully you'll find a buyer soon for a reasonable price. I'd have to think there are more people like me who consider Mahindra the next closest thing to one of the big three CUT manufacturers. I'm quite impressed with the Mahindra tractors. However, in the last 25 years or so I've gone through over a dozen tractors and I've almost never lost money on any of them. All but one of them was purchased new. And, I'm also not talking about having a dealer "show" me as much as I paid for it in comparison to full sticker on another unit; I'm saying that I've nearly always gotten all my money back when I've sold or traded. On two units I actually made money.
I'm sure someone will try to attack me and say that I'm slandering Mahindra, but those will be people who can't read. As I said, I'm quite impressed with the brand. My guess is that Mahindra only needs to weed out the small dealers who sell out of a yard barn and begin requiring dealers to stock a fair amount of parts inventory, stock a few dozen new Mahindra tractors on their lot, and have a complete service department with factory trained techs to get their resale value to climb. I think their product is there; they just need to improve their public image by upgrading their dealers. I'd say that they can now be rather picky with who they allow to carry their units, not just grant a franchise to anyone who applies as long as there isn't already someone within a protected area. Needless to say, some with 'protected' areas need to be un-protected.
If you have to hang on to it for a while longer, I'd bet it won't drop in value any further. I get the feeling that quite a few of the off brand tractor makes will disappear in the next few years, but Mahindra definitely is not on that list. I'd say that Mahindra has 'arrived', but just needs better public perception from the dealer prospective. I can think of two Mahindra dealers in particular that sell on the side of the highway out of a yard barn and stock two or three new tractors maximum. I think seeing those sort of dealers hurt the public perception of Mahindra and I think Mahindra knows it and will be taking measures to fix it. Anyway, good luck!
