This is an adapter I made for my travel trailer in case the motor went out on the electric jack. I don't know why a person couldn't make something similar for an equipment trailer. It was made to use a 3/4" wrench, crescent wrench or cordless drill with a socket.

That’s exactly the sort of thing I need.

I’m not sure how your jacks are made but mine have stubs out both sides of the jack. One side has a pipe with a bolt through it for the handle and and the other side doesn’t do anything. I’d planned on permanently attaching the drill stub to the vacant side and trading the bolt for a pin. If I wanted to use the drill I could just pull the other pin so the handle isn’t flailing around.

Thinking of doing same. Wonder if welding 1/2” impact socket on

I think some of the replies have confused stabilizing jacks on RV with lift (landing) gear on front of your trailer. A handheld cordless 12 volt drill will easily turn RV stabilizer jacks to run them up or down. Been doing that for years. But the RV stabilizer jack is NOT lifting the weight of the RV.
To manage the weight on front landing gear of a gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer you need something with slower speed and more torque. I am curious if you can get a variable speed high torque 1/2 cordless impact to do the job?

I use the cordless drill on both the stabilizers and the landing gear. The pin weight on my trailer is about 850lbs.

This is how the landing gear works on our Timpte Super Hopper grain trailers. The handle works on the landing gear and the dump doors. I wonder if you could weld a nut on the end of the shaft to use a drill and fix your handle similar to this.

Hummm......

Just showing how Timpte does it. The handle has a hex socket that fits the hex nut on the shaft. A person could use a drill (or impact) to run the legs down and finish with the handle.

I used that brand before, Then we started using Holland legs....

My jack shaft is hollow so I welded a small bolt to the end, it will fit inside the jack handle. Like I said, the drill only has enough power to raise/lower the legs with no weight on them. It didn't help much so I rarely use it.

I know pictures are deceiving but that gooseneck riser appears to be 10" with a 1/4" or maybe 5/16" flange? That seems really light for a 38K gvw trailer, plus the deck on the neck will add weight/stress to it. Please confirm and tell me I am wrong:)

Youre not only wrong, you need glasses

I need to do that.
I have a VERY strong DeWalt impact that I would rather use, but wonder if the impacts would damage the Jack internals or round-off the welded on nut?

Getting ready to try the same thing. Intention is to find what size deep impact socket I need, drill it for the pin, and use a corded impact to raise and lower.

So you want to put a deep socket over the jack shaft? Held in place with a pin cross drilled through the jack shaft? I like that idea because the impact socket should last a long time and if it wears out, its removable. If you need to use manual crank, its removable.

I thought about that. It’s by far the easiest way to do it but I work about the impact damaging the jack.
