Hi,

I have a BX 1800 with a snowblower and want to put a cab on it before winter. I've looked at the pictures that have been posted and have a few questions that my dealer was unable to answer. I store my tractor in a shed with limited headroom. Can anyone out there tell me how far the roof of the cab extends above the ROP. For those that have one, are you satisfied with your cab? Are the doors and the back easily removed for the summer? It gets very cold in Northern Vermont. Is the heater adequate? Any help that you can offer will be appreciated.

I can tell you that my curtis cab is about 2 inches or so below my standard rops on my b2910. and I love it! its very warm in the winter....you can wear a t-shirt in there if you really wanted to and dont open the door!

My c.c. on our b 7500 is approximately 4 inches lower than the rops. Get the front worklights & the heater!

The cab hight is about 12" lower than the ROPS on the BX22, so I believe that it will be the same hight as the ROPS on the BX1800.

Hi Dooze,

I'm very satisfied with the curtis cab. Junkman was right in his comments for the height, as always /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

As far as the heater, it's good enought for up here in Canada. Check the photo, it's the one circle out. I also recommend this mounting location.

Doors come on/off, no problems.

If you have any others questions, please ask away.

Later,

Bird

I would appreciate it if you were to post a whole lot of pictures of the cab installed on the BX22. I am seriously thinking of one before the winter, but just can't decide for sure if it is what I want or I want a new tractor with a factory cab. ...... decisions.... decisions..... what to do???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I may try to call them today. If I do or you do, one of us can let them know they have at least two sales if they hurry /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh, and hurry up and figure out how we are going to put heat and air on them so I can copy your ideas. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

you have more than enough property to warrant a 3030 with factory cab. 99, if not 100% of your implements would still be useable. Wifey might back down on all your toys just knowing a nice factory cab is there to plow her way to work /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

They are no plans to be making a cab for the BX22/23 for the future. I tried to get them to switch hard side doors for the soft side doors and charge me the additional, but they wouldn't do that either. It is either all hard or all soft sided. I also sent them the pictures of the modification that one dealer made to the roof and asked if they might come out with a kit like that for the BX22/23, and the answer is still no.
Someone mentioned on TBN that Carver was going to be making a BX22/23 cab, but that turned out to be misinformation. Lauren in Canada is still the only company that is making a BX22/23 cab, but the price is beyond reasonable.
I know of a dealer that will give a great price on the Curtis soft side cab and heater if you can pick up the cab in Worcester MA yourself. PM me if you want more info....

Junk,

PM me the MA dealers info if you could. Might be worth the trip.

I was the one that stated about the Curtis thing but it was a misstype, I meant to say Curtis. I will have to call my dealer again. He is the one that stated that Curtis was building one for the 23.

Also do you have the web site for Lauren out of Canada? I did a search and had no hits.

Thanks

I have the Curtis cab on my 2200. It sits about 4" higher than the cab. It works well with the heater-much better than blowing snow without a cab. I usually wear a light jacket, as the Curtis cab is not air tight, and a few drafts are evident no matter how you try to plug the holes around the seat etc. I installed a radio, so at least I don't have to sing to myself anymore /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif . I find that the cab is a bit of a pain when grass cuttig season comes around (you can't cut as close to the trees), but all in all, it makes winter much easier to handle.

Have you considered removal for the summer months????

   / Curtis Cabs #18
Yep, I did think of that, but I complicated things by the way I wired all the lights, radio, auxilliary power, so I thought I best leave it in place. Aside from that, my bald head appreciates the shade /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi Junk,

Here a view of the back last winter. I've removed the factory back platic & install a piece of plexiglass. This give me a much wider & clean view. It's also way faster to remove in the summer months. With the doors & the back glass removed, it's never uncomfortable in the summer.

Any decision you deciced, it's a win, win. This setup or a brand new tractor... How can u go wrong /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll post some more pics as I can.

Later...
