My old gal has the shakes, and her mounts are shot. I see the replacement parts in the catalog, which don't look too hard to deal with, but I have questions about how to replace them. Online I have seen references saying it's a trivial job, but my local tractor guy seems to think its a bit of a pain.
1) can I just put a floor jack under the engine to lift it up an inch or two to get them out? Or do I need an engine lift?
2) Do I have to disconnect the PTO etc to lift the engine up from the frame, or is there enough play in the system to leave things connected?
I'd love to hear from anyone who has done this job, and who could offer any hints.
