Determining maximum cutting torch tip size based on acetylene bottle size?

I guess my question, is will you be using the torch for more than a few minutes at a time. If you will be heating with a rosebud for hours on end, then buy a 330 CF tank. I, like others here, use a 0 and 00 most of the time for up to 1" thick. It takes longer to get it hot enough to cut, but once hot a 0 tip will cut 1" plate easily. I have a small (75 CF ) acetylene tank and I can run a small rosebud for heating with it, but I never need more than 5 minutes to heat anything around my shop and an 0 tip will cut anything I need.

Thanks everyone! Being a 'wannabe' welder, my requirements are toward the lower end, and it sounds like the tips will cut thicker material than stated with patience. I'll buy the #4 rosebud use it only for short periods of time. Thanks, Toukow!
