there was a big pecan pie there also last night.
host cut into it and a piece reluctantly came out, all gooey and sticky.
I wonder if your glucose can go up just by visual stimulation...
Interesting question! I was curious, too, and after poking around a bit, apparently there is an "anticipatory response" to seeing food that does cause rises in blood sugar.
Learn something new every day.
Personally, I feel as if I'm getting a blood sugar spike just thinking about pecan pie. I used to love them, until I cooked one and realized just how much sugar, in one form or another, goes into a pecan pie.
Quiet day yesterday, but got to try out the new oven, which literally has an automated "convection turkey roast" mode. Talk about idiot proof. The convection oven did shave about 1/3 or more off of the roasting time. We are late to the modern oven party. Our prior one was fifty years old, and while it worked, was less than efficient. Afterwards, I made stock with the carcass.
Yesterday, our dog was rewarded with a few scraps of turkey, and decided that she's willing to do anything, just ask, anything for more turkey, so it looks like we have a new tool in the dog training repertoire. (Yay!)
I think that today will be a wait and see day.
All the best,
Peter
