Good deal.

I am still looking for documentation, that there are any compatible, aftermarket hydraulic filters.

I have seen people claiming they have one, but no link showing it's actually compatible.

If it's out there, lets get it posted.

The hydro filter on thevsale price was about 29.00 plus tax. While that is expensive by engine oilnfiltet standards . . I'm guessing by hydro fluid standards thats not a bad price. Especially when you consider the hydro after the 50 hour service goes another 250 hours. Based on my usage thats about 2.5 years but based on numetous others thats 5 years.

I called the dealer where I bought my tractor for pricing of the AGCO Permatran fluid. It was right around $40 per gallon. I also looked up the price of the Amsoil fluid, and it is was $10.80 a quart, so very similar in price. Hmmm, maybe I'll buy the Amsoil instead, and go against my original thinking!!:confused2:

I purchased Mobil 424 Transfluid online from a company called Acculube when I changed the fluid in my GC2410 last Spring.

Mobilfluid 424 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid, 5 Gallons

I just checked today and it was $71 (including shipping to my zip code) for 5 gallons.
Mobil 424 meets/exceeds all specs for Massey Ferguson M-1135 and M-1141 (Permatran-III).

Just something else to consider.

Here is the official sales pitch from their website.

Mobilfluid 424 (Multipurpose Tractor Lubricant)
-Mobilfluid 424 is an extra high performance multipurpose tractor lubricant engineered to meet or exceed transmission and hydraulic fluid requirements.
-High viscosity index and shear stability ensure consistent operating response.

-This product has strong anti-wear and extreme pressure properties that extend equipment life and reduce maintenance costs.
-Mobilfluid 424 delivers exceptional performance in power train transmissions, drive axles, clutches, and hydraulic systems.

If you are newer to tractors you may or may not know about dealer spring promotions on parts and supplies. You may get a flyer in the mail or email. I did from a different dealer that is close to me. But sometimes its smart to call your dealer to find out if they had one/have one/ or will be having one soon.

My dealer didn't send me anything vecause they figured I was "too far away" . . But I called them right as a salevwas ending and I got 2 fuel filters, 1 oil filter, 1 hydro filter and a 5 gallon bucket of permatran 821 for 130.00 plus tax.

Interestingly, I had gotten some wix oil filters that are directly compatible . . Had a 5.00 off coupon and my fuel filter from the dealer was still cheaper on this sale than what I paid at the auto parts store on sale. Go figure that one lol.

The only thing I'll get somewhere else is the synthetic gear oil . . that was pricey at the dealer. So Saturday I'll pick up the products and the savings will pay my cost to get to the dealer seminar/open house :)

Well axle im on 35 hrs now on my tractor. Im emailing my dealer to see if they can match that price you got. What gear oil did you get?

Came across this thread, and it got me wondering what my dealer would charge to do the 50 hour service. Called, and got a quote of $380.00. Something to consider with my schedule becoming more and more hectic.

You can always just change the engine oil, and put off the transmission service, until you have time.

For $380, you can do it yourself, with all synthetic oil, probably do a more thorough job, and have money left over.

That is also something to consider. I will be having surgery soon and be out of commission for 6 weeks. Just try to look at all available options. My friend may be able to do it for just a case of beer. It just depends on his schedule.

Stopped by a large Massey/Kubota dealer near where I was turkey hunting last week and picked up an oil, hydraulic, and fuel filter. Three different employees were bewildered when i mentioned changing hydraulic oil at 50 hours. Apparently, they never change it before 300 hours in any of their equipment. Only change the filter at 50 hours. They are a highly reputable dealer in a county dominated my agriculture. I found that very interesting.

Wow! I am pretty sure the manual states fluid also. So now the question is, if something went wrong after the dealership did the 50 hour service, would the warranty be voided?

Manual defntely talks about front drive and hydro being changed. The idea is the hydro fluid can run along time BUT the first time has the residue of manufacturing and assembly to deal with. In addition, the first time the fluids are changed it assures that fluid levels are properly filled after iniial operating times. Kubota as an example used to see some front axle issues because their bx units would show delivery fuid levels acceptable and 20 hours f uuse and the fluid levels drop because air gaps had been worked out of the front end. I can't imajne why someone would chanfe the filter and not the fluid in the hdro . . because once its done . . You have 20 more hoursto do ut again.
