Just ordered it today. Should be here in about a week. It's funny, but I feel more relief (at finally getting this decision behind me) than joy or anticipation.

I'm just ready to get to work. I've gotta get a stump grapple ordered asap. (See my "Stump Grapple" thread in the Attachments forum if you have any thoughts on the subject.)

And I've gotta decide on a shredder. Leaning towards the Rhino 172 at my dealer, but not sure yet.

For a box blade, I'm probably gonna buy a used Gannon with hydraulic scarifiers if I can talk a certain seller down to reality on his price. $1,250 sounds too high for one in decent (but not great) shape that may need two new hydraulic hoses.

Congratulations on your new Kioti. They are a great machine and sure you will get lots of enjoyment with it. Don't know much about stump grapples shredder choice is a good one

Welcome to the pack!

Nice machine, we want to see pics when it gets home.

Congratulations on your new machine, and welcome to the pack. Hydraulic hoses are pretty cheap at this company.

Congratulations on your new tractor, very nice machine indeed, your tractor will handle the Rhino 172 quite easily though you may or may not need one with more than 1 1/2" cutting capacity, several good brands out there and of course Rhino makes a heavier cutter.

Out of curiosity how are you having yours equipped, rear remotes etc.?

Thanks to all. I really appreciate all the advice and guidance I've received on this forum.

TripleR, I'm having a 2nd rear remote added, plus the tires loaded. And since I'm going to be using a grapple (once I pick one out) using one of the rear remotes, I'm having them route hydraulic hoses from one of the rear SCVs to the cross-bar on the front of the loader.

Can you post pictures when you get it, I have three rear remotes as I have a Land Pride HR3584 box scraper and might try to use one of them instead of adding a third function for a grapple.

I will be happy to post some pics when I get it. I'm interested to see how they are going to route the hoses.

On the mower, I know that Rhino sells a heavier mower, which I think is called the 272, but it is Category II only. Seems odd to me because Bush Hog sells their 296 6' mower, which is very heavy duty and has a Category I hitch. I wish my dealer sold Bush Hog, which would make it an easy decision.

Yeah kind of surprising, our L5740 is cat I or II as is our Land Pride RCR2672, kinda though most were.

Congrats! I just picked up my the same tractor last Friday.

I picked up a 73" Caroni flail Saturday. Sunday I put 'em to work(I wish I coulda bailed the grass).

The flail did great on the grass as well as privet up to 2+" in diameter.

Thanks Murph.

King, that flail looks like it did a great job! I'm impressed. Did the DK50 handle it ok without laboring?

I know that the Gannon is used, but keep in mind that a new one is about $3500. Hoses are cheap. ;)

Brian, that's a good point. But I can buy a brand new 1,100 pound Rhino box blade with hydraulic scarifiers for less than $2,500. It may not be quite as heavy as the Gannon, but it's a quality piece.

The Gannon is a big heavy beast, which is exactly what I want. I'm gonna go see the guy again tomorrow and see if I can talk him off the ledge on his price.

Handled it with no problem.

There was one low area where the grass was super thick that I had to slow down a bit, but for the most part I ran in medium range.

I got about an hour of privet done today before I had a valve stem knocked off. I didn't realize I had a flat(rough terrain) until the tractor acted like it was stuck. The rim cut the bead down. Now I have to wait until next week to replace a 9 hour old tire. That sucks, because the weekends are the only free time I have to work on the property.

The flail did a great job on the privet.

The big privet(multi stem and 3-4" diameter) I pushed over and then flailed it.

No after pics because I was dealing with the tire.

Put on 6 teeth this morning. I am adding 2 more(to either corner), but my drill melted.

Too bad .. Hate to hear about the tire.

I gashed the blazes out of one of my rears by turning too tight when pulling a sprayer. Luckily, it didn't get all the way through - but it couldn't have missed by much. That was with only about 30 hours on mine. Asking around, I found you could sometimes fix problems with inner liners and/or tubes and not always have to replace the tire.

Did you call service to your property or remove the tire yourself? I'll be curious to hear if you were able to repair or if the damage was too severe.

Pulled the wheel and tire.

The wire in the inside inside bead was torn out so the bead was flimsy. Laid the tire on the ground and stood on it, spun the wheel 90 degrees and yanked that puppy out. The tire is shot.

Are the tire valves on the inside where they are more protected? While you have the tire/wheel off would be a good time to weld a valve stem protector on the wheel. Although this does sound like just bad luck it wouldn't be hard to add the protection and a good idea if you are going to be doing lots of brush work.

If it is stock Kioti there should be valve protectors on there.
