Never had heard of bi-polar tape till now but the way I read it a person can use their own charger as long as you have more than 2 joules. Also looks like you need to use their own hardware to hook up bi-polar system as RobA stated in previous post.
Also I'D say ground rods are an option . Don't have any experience nor am I knocking the Bi-Polar system but it appears if a person goes that route your obligated to purchase their hardware etc when you need it to work with Bi-polar tape system.

If you go to their site theres a green bar across top of screen that says estimator key in there and scroll dowm and you will see where it states about using your own charger and 2 joules.

Would be interested on how well you like the Horseguard Fence.

We have had horseguardfencing installed for 15 years. The horses, deer and humans can see the white tape. I used their lag screws for the line tensioners and McFeely square drive stainless steel screws for the line brackets. A pair of scissors, tape measure and a cordless drill with a square drive bit are all you need to install it. Some places I used T posts and they also sell sleeves that cover the posts and work with the tape. It really is pretty simple to install and it lasts.

The first photo is of 3 strands of tape on 4" x 4" x 8" PT posts, the second is white tape on T posts with brown sleeves.

Very beautiful place you have.

The Zareba came today and since it is rated at 1.5 joules I am leaning at this point to go with Electrobraid brand of rope fencing.

The Milwaukee M12 12v grease gun also came today but I did not get a chance to try it before the storm hit but it is now charged and has a new tube of grease in it now. The gun looks quality.

More than one strand has to have a jumper on the charging side for every strand. Without a dedicated ground it would appear that the each strand would have negative jumper also. Your choice of rope over tape is interesting.

I have owned a Lincoln Powerluber for two years now. Let us know how your Milwaukee M12 compares to a Lincoln Powerluber.

I plan on ordering 1 like You just got , but look again Gale on bottom left hand corner of charger it says ".15 joule" .

Still one heck of a deal , those things go for almost $200 .

bullbreaker I noticed that this AM so it will have to be mono polar for us. I am thinking Electrobraid because of their slick copper marketing angle.:) I am more into that a post every 50' thing too. We are not talking permanent mini horse fencing but a one wire rather one rope fence for day use and we will move them back each evening. In fact we put out the grain and they will run back to the house where we have the 50" cattle panel fencing with T posts.

I just bought some Intellirope from Premier 1 supplies. It is less expensive equivalent of the Electrobraid. IntelliRope® PE 4.5 - Premier1Supplies

I have not gotten it up yet but it looks good. They say the 4.5 diameter is better for the temporary fencing that you doing. Rick

Well if nothing else bullbreaker got me researching joules. I was never aware that joules mattered. I checked our charger today and it is .75 joules. Also went on the Ramm website to see if .75 joules is adequate for our Ramm Shock Tape and it appears to be. 2.0 joules is a lot from what I am seeing.
