FEL lubrication - has to be a better way

Cool, I have an identical (antique) grease gun. Was already well used when I got it at auction over 30 years ago.
Yes, I had to replace the tip to overcome the same problems, but I got this screw-on type.:

Works fine, but if I had a lot of greasing to do, one of those Lock n Loads would be more convenient. (and $25 more expensive)

i stay away from elect grease guns. i dont want to over grease my stuff. get tired of cleaning all the excess grease off of it.

There is no more reason to over grease, with a battery powered grease gun than a manual grease gun.

The tip on your rubber hose is adjustable. Back off on the locking nut - screw the tip down a little. The tip will then lock on the zerk and not fall off.

However - I have a DeWalt 20V with a standard tip. Many of the zerks are recessed on my FEL. The diameter of my Lock-N-Lube is too big to go in and lock on the recessed zerks.

The DeWalt make the job easy, fast and not quite as messy.

ive heard here some people complain the lock n lube wont fit. luckily all the zerks on my kioti can be greased without issue, same with implements.

Has anybody mentioned a lock and lube yet? :) It is one of those few "gizmo" inventions that is better than advertised.
On FEL's if the fitting won't take grease, sometimes if you just change positions on how the joint is setting it will free it up (raise or lower the FEL or curl the bucket). If that doesn't work, what you do is loosen whatever holds the pin you are trying to lube in place and beat the pin back and forth a bit with a hammer. That will usually allow it to take grease.
It's the left front steering knuckle. I'll lift it up tomorrow and see if that frees it up.

Thanks,

I have a situation similar to what Cougsfan describes. It's one of the zerks on the grapple. I have to start the tractor and pivot the grapple. Wah La - the zerk will not accept grease.

LNL and a pneumatic pail greaser is my goto

A good quality pistol grip grease gun with flex hose and a Lock & Lube works for me. One day if my arthritis forces the issue I’ll get a battery powered gun, but until then I’m happy with what I have.

I do not have the LnL but do use a pistol grip with a long flex hose and so far even with arthritis I have no issues and unless I get to the point I cannot use my hands at all will never have/use a battery powered grease gun. I want to FEEL how the fitting is taking grease, if it is getting hard/tight then I can address the problem before it gets to bad or not taking grease at all.
