YUP!
This is EXACTLY the simple/cheap way to transfer diesel.
You can buy these little 12V pumps on E-Bay, or elsewhere online for under $20.
I am old, and holding a 5gal. can up high, while it drains, no longer works for me.
These pumps are just under 1-1/2" in diameter.
Current E-Bay listings: 193777625607, or stainless 193788206536..... $17.52 each

My cans are all 33mm at the throat (Canada). These pumps are 38mm- too large to go in the can.

Just use an el cheapo HF battery powered pump in the 5 gallon jugs. Sure, it's slow but I am in no hurry.

Same here. I've used one for 5 years and it works perfectly. Start the pump and walk away for about 6-7 minutes. It's pumped about 25 cans (5 gallon- 23 L) and the battery still works.

I use a 55 gallon drum on a custom pallet. I load and unload on the trailer with the front end loader to fill it at the gas station.

I use this pump: 12 GPM Air Operated Barrel Pump ($70)

I just pop it on the air compressor and it works. I really didn't want another electric motor. I did replace the cheapo clear hose with a proper nozzle ($24)

I have a PITA Kubota L48 to fill up. I fill up my cans 4 gals at a time. When that gets too much I'll fill 3gals at a time.

I use a Terapump TFRA01 battery powered transfer pump to fill my CUT with diesel. I have a second one to fill the tank on our pontoon boat that never seems to be on the side closest to the dock! Very handy pumps for the last 3 years.

I’m only 3 miles to the gas station with off-road diesel so I take a little road trip every few weeks. Its the only time I get to exercise high range. A few farmers use the same station at times if they are far from home so plenty of turnover.

This has worked for me.
Plus they have really good chicken strips and Mt.Dew.

I use 5gallon cans but only put in about 3gallons each. I can handle a couple of partial cans easier than balancing a full 5 gallon can with my arthritic elbows

I also use a tera pump they make a whole punch of different ones. Mine take a couple of minutes to put in 5 gal. FUEL TRANSFER PUMPS

I have some No-Spill brand cans with a push button style valve so you can set it on the side (spout facing down) and it wont dispense until you push the plunger. It is actually one of the best "epa type spouts" that I have used. With my SCUT (MF GC1725MB) the tank cap is just at the right height where I can set the fuel can on top of our trash receptacle and it just clears the fill neck. Some day I will make a "shelf" that I can place a can on to fill it, maybe a rolling type so it's easy to move but for now the trash can works just fine.

Well, I hoist up the 5 gallon can, but with the spout removed, and a funnel inserted in the top of the tank. I'm tall enough that holding it to pour like that isn't too bad, and I get very little spillage. Nice little isometric bicep exercise!

I usually only fill tractor to about 3/4 cuz hard to see to stop in time so don't overflow if trying for full, but with care, that can be done.

This is what I have started using. Not having to deal with the mess when I try to get the spout lined up with the fuel tank corresponded to the amount of time it takes the pump to fill the tank.

Same thing I use, slow but works well and no spilling, I hate the smell of diesel fuel.

It is by far and away the best fuel preservative there is. It was initially used in bunker fuel on ships to keep it fresh. A little research will reveal so amazing facts about this additive.

I keep 150 gallons of diesel on hand, I treat it every six months with PRI D, one ounce to 15 gallons of diesel. I rotate my barrels as I use them. I am currently burning diesel from 2015 in my JD 450C dozer and Massey 165 tractor. Runs like it is right out of the pump.

They also have PRI G for gas. you will never have bad gas if you follow the directions. All of my power equipment, and boat sit all winter with gas in them and they fire right up in the spring. I have been using this stuff for 15 years,it works.

Different model, same idea. rag on hood. 5 gal on rag, pump. unscrew batteries from pump for storage. Has auto shut off. Easy for us old guys.

I use the fel to lift the can high enough to run the siphon. Use a cheapo hand squeezed siphon. Simple as can be and can be used anywhere. If I'm going to be out and about and use a bunch of diesel I just slap the can in the fel and take it to the job site and set it aside till need it.

I have a 55 gallon plastic drum I mounted to a metal pallet I can load in the back of my pickup.
I modified two caps on the drum so that I can apply some compressed air from my compressor.
One cap has a 1/2 inch pipe with ball valve and air line quick connect and the pipe does not protrude into the tank more than an inch or two.
The other cap has a 1/2 inch pipe with ball valve and barb fitting with vinyl tubing. This pipe protrudes to the bottom of the drum minus 4 inches. Keeping pipe 4 inches off the bottom of the drum prevents an accumulated water from coming out.
I set the regulator on my air compressor to 4 psi.
Opening the fill valve on the drum puts 4 psi into the drum and pressure at the surface of the diesel which forces the diesel up through the other pipe from the bottom of the tank and out through the vinyl hose.
I can fill my tractor 10 gallon tank in just a couple minutes by turning on my compressor and opening two valves.
No lifting, no mess.
And I can does my 55 gallon drum with additives as needed so when I fuel my tractor I do nothing but fuel my tractor.
The fittings at the hardware store shouldn't cost more than $15 but I already had everything in my shed to make the mods so it cost me nothing.
