Hydraulic cooler on my CK25

My conversion kit came with the new fittings too. But after I changed one of them it did not fit the old pipes. The new fitting was the wrong kind so I had to put the old one back on. I think Kioti may have used different fittings on the original tractors depending on when they were manufactured. I stared at those fittings a long time before I figured out they did not need to be changed. Kioti would not include them if they weren't necessary for some of the tractors. I think the old fitting had flair ends on both ends and the new one had flare on one end and pipe threads on the other. Or visa versa. It's been a few months now. Anyway no leaks on the new cooler and hoses. By the way I think the cooler for the CK25/30 is the same as the CK20.

Another update, I have another 50 hours on the ck25 and so far very good. The cooler is dry.
When I had problems there was no spraying just a seep that wetted the cooler and clogged it. Also, I got hydraulic oil on the radiator and the engine.
To all, keep an eye on your cooler!!

Kioti Daedong heard you and fixed it, at least on the new CK30 HSTs. They now have the flex lines to the cooler. Since they know it was a prob, your dealer should fix it and try to get reimbursed fm the manf'r.

Take it from me, that will not happen. I happen to have a very good dealer, (my opinion), and if it isn't broke or leaking, the warranty and reimbursement does not apply. I have the ridgid lines and wanted to prevent a cooler failure. I can do theat for around 100.00 dollars if I choose. If these lines cause the cooler to fail and I'm under warranty, KIOTI fixes it with flexible lines and a new cooler...................makes sense to me??? I'll most likely purchase the lines at some point and move on just for peace of mind. Ahhh, what's next?

Yeah, Jon DePratt told me some need a different fitting and some dont. Must have been a production or supplier change at some point. Ever done ANY plumbing without 3 trips to the hardware store???

Hah! That's the truth. I now live within walking distance of a Home Depot and find myself making lots of trips.

I was surprised at the size of the cooler once I had it in my hands. It's not very big. Heat is a killer on oil and I would think a bigger cooler would be better. I guess the Kioti engineers calculated what was needed.

I was looking at that cooler myself last visit to the tractor studying the lines and noticing the cooler element seems anemic, considering what its asked to do and how many gallons of fluid flows thru its veins on a 90 degree day.
It appeared it could be a bit of work to configure something different or additional. First off I'm not sure what pressure it needs to be capable of. Then whats the likelihood of the fittings being the same on something larger, and what thread are they now- likely one would have to craft their own new hoses to mate up something different. I was also envisioning a small electric pusher fan like some aftermarket oil cooler setups are offered with. Sounds like a winter project for the retired. Looks like mine will have to wait 20 or so years. :~}

I have begun gauging the trans temp by holding my hand on the HST filter by my heel when working hard. If I can't hold my hand on there for three seconds then I let it cool. The trans will pick up temp before the engine coolant as the radiator screens become clogged with chaffe. So I clean them a little more often and that really works. A guy could put a trans temp gauge on pretty easily like those made by autometer for pickups.

I wonder if a cooler from a Kubota or NH or some other HST tractor would fit reasonably closely. Or maybe more importantly, I wonder if the coolers from those brands are of similar tinyness.

If you don't have the flex hose be very careful. Once a leak happens it can be a major event.
