1. All vehicles are ice challenged, not just tractors.
2. All chains can be a hassle to install. You have to figure out which install method works best for you. On mine I put the tractor in neutral, jack up the rear, lift a chain up and onto the R4 lugs then rotate the tire around to pull the chain around. Then I can connect the inside and outside of the chain. .......

I do the same method. Just remember that not only do you have to put it in neutral, you also have to take it out of 4WD! Or else you'll be standing there asking: "WTF Man? Why doesn't that tire turn!!? Dooh!!"
Don't ask me how I know!! :mur: :D

I had heavy duty tractor V-bar ladder chains when I had my Ford 1700. Front & rear. They were HEAVY which didn't help with the install. However, once they were on - I could climb a vertical wall. They made the Ford ride like a COB.

Were I to do it again. Definitely some type of the European chain with a better ride. I would have definitely given up some of the traction gained for a better ride.

And fortunately, you would not need to give up traction for better ride. Having run both styles on my tractor, the euro-style chains definitely have better traction.
