Got it - I had an old Satoh with a back blade and could never get the blade set correctly to drag, plow, etc. If only it had position control... Given the yard prep work I have to do, position control is now a must. Guess I may need to compare the Kubota 2630 to the Deere 2520 instead.

Yes, I think that is a better match since both have very comparable features, power, and weight. In that match up, I like the Kubota because of the nice features on the three point hitch, and the extra capacity of the hitch, and loader though the 2520 may be a bit more nimble.

The hitches are different but yet the same. They both move from top to bottom but with a different control system.
To take a position control and move it to number three, will give you different heights! Same as number two, four or nine. They are not zero'd out! This sytem has been used for many years and has been a good system for those that are used to it.
The brands that use the Quarter inching system has full up and down the same but to pick the depth that you want to run you lower the implement and then adjust it in small increments with a short movement of the lever. This is a system that gives great three point implement control for grading.
I personally wouldn't own a hydro without it being three range! From my experience the most used range is the middle! This beats shifting from low to high while transporting fill from one are to the other with the engine racing or taking the time to go to high range to throttle down.

As a point of reference on the B2620 from an earlier post - I did get a price of $14,000 on the B2620 wFEL from a dealer near my Dad's house in Ohio. That $1,250 better than my best quote in Colorado. He's driving out in 2 weeks pulling a Harley - I'm sure there's room on the trailer for a 4wd tractor if I can get one cheaper there.

IMHO, and it's just that...The JD will hold it's value better. I know I am going to get in trouble for saying it...flame-suit ON:D

In my neck of the woods, this is true as well. The Kubota is nice (I like the Deere better) and around here (MN) the Deere will hold its value better.
