Kubota M series VS, Mahindra 6000 series

Dealers are not a charity. Costs alot these days to keep the doors open.

Reading other threads where people can't get parts for "other" tractor makes, just reinforces my beliefs. I have Deere and Kubota dealers in every direction from me and parts are most often a day away. Isn't that worth a lot? I rarely like the prices, but it sure beats the parts not being available.

   / Kubota M series VS, Mahindra 6000 series #22
Hey - cheap parts can end up being just a bandaid. I'll take available, expensive parts - any day - over "no parts available". Besides - in the eleven years I've had my M6040 - with routine & correct maintenance - I've yet to need any replacement parts. But the dealer is right there if I need him.

And with my first tractor - Ford 1700 - I only had to replace the front tires once. The only "replacement parts" in the 27 years I owned that tractor.

Yes - I definitely feel that having a good, reputable dealer - close at hand - is a very worthwhile advantage.

Just one less thing to worry about.

Just more of the same from guys who like hearing themselves talk .And dont really know the facts.

I am unsure where you are going with this? Can you fill me in with some facts that I may have missed or overlooked? Thanks.

Yeah.....I bet the dealer would love to have your pre pollution devices tractor.
He could likely sell it for close to the price of a new one, but would not be particularly generous with you on the trade.

 . . .

Thanks for all your help, input and opinions. I like the analogy of comparing Kubota as Snap on and Harbor freight. I am a Kubota guy so I am a little biased but trying to research all options that are available. We are buying a tractor at my work as well and the boss was dead set on Kioti RX6620 compared to the Kubota M 6010(Same options Kioti came in about $1500 cheaper, a no brainer choice to me). I will save that snap on analogy as to when his Kioti has a problem. Yes the Japanese is a different culture and they do their very best to save "face". I know Mahindra is "The number one selling tractor brand in the world". What other items have you all bought from India that was of any quality?

An MX is out of the question as it is hydrostatic

I updated a new spec sheet for the opinions and options noted

Not all Mahindra are built in India that is I believe their corporate office.

I did check Mahindra Worldwide Corporate website, and after extensive reading, apparently for Mahindra tractors: approximately 60% of parts are sourced from India, 20% China, 14% Korea and 6% sourced from Japan. All are assembled in India at the worlds largest tractor factory and shipped to various markets, where specific upgrades for local markets are made using local parts. So options like 3rd function hydraulics, exterior lighting, seating upgrades and tires can be American made.

No . . . they have tractors made in several countries . . . the only one I am familiar with is manufactured in Japan . . . Mitsubishi Corp. You are correct about the loaders etc.

The finger snapper linch pins and CAT I lower link pins are pretty good. Aside from the language barrier, tech support is good.

The Kubota MX series is available with both mechanical shuttle and hydro tranny options.

One thing I did not mention is the ability to remove the loader easily so it can be used for field work. Easily I mean 1 person 66 years old with little mechanical ability.

Most of us no longer remove the loader for field work, we just remove the bucket. Without the bucket, the rest of the loader isn't in the way. Dropping or reattaching the bucket just takes throwing two levers. Takes only a minute or two. All the Kubotas have an option for a few hundred bucks to use these quick change buckets on the loader - called SSQA. You want that anyway so that you can use a spear, or hay tines or whatever.

BTW, my choice is the Kubota in 7060 or larger with comfort ride (damping for the front end loader), air suspension seat, open station but with a canopy roof top just for shade. Transmission: as many manual shift gears as you can get that has their powershifting clutchless forward/reverse lever. And Ag tires or those new style radials. Probably get at least one set of front and rear remotes.
Someday I'll be looking at those Mahindras, but right now I'd go Kubota.
good luck,
rScotty

"dropping or reattaching the bucket just takes throwing two levers".
Not always!
With a diverter......
Just activate the 3rd function.
Forks>bucket, bucket>forks, forks>bucket, all day long, never leave the seat!
I LOVE it!

Yep.

Same line of thinking those old tractors are way too much work. I'll drive down and take that 8N off your hands tonight, just shoot me your addy.

I have a few different brands of tractors around here, and of the two being discussed here, and it was MY money being spent, the Kubota 7060 is the tractor that would be coming home with me.

I also would want it to have at least two rear remotes, 12 speed tranny and the bigger rear tires, I prefer radials.

My Kubota M7060HDC12 spends most of its time with the loader OFF. The entire loader, not just the bucket. Of course, I still have the old John Deere with a front end loader. But what could be easier than pulling 2 pins and disconnecting 4 hoses? Takes 5 minutes and then I no longer have those big loader arms in the way. When I'm mowing I need to clean all the screens and radiators and filters under the hood at least once every day and it is a lot easier with the loader arms gone. That front end loader is just extra weight I don't need when I'm bouncing around on this rough desert terrain...I don't have any smooth level ground to work on.

Loader is not removable on my Kubota L48.

Hold my beer.

Fear not!
The 8N is comfortably nestled in my barn.
All safe and sound; right beside it's younger Ford 1920 brother, and it's much younger Kubota L48TLB cousin.

Well there is a lot to the story, but my father in law now has a Mahindra 6065 2WD no cab, no loader. Not my decision or recommendation but that's what he wanted. Out the door for just under $20K. I drove it over the weekend with 5 hrs on it. It was about 0 degrees outside. Seemed as though the shuttle shift had quite a delay (like a clutch slipping) more than I have experienced with other brands. I thought I was spinning tires on snow and ice but it was not moving up the smallest incline in medium gear. I let it run for quite a while before driving it. Possibly the fluid was still cold? I guess time will tell if it is the nature of the beast, cold temps or if there is a issue with it.

Can't beat that price. A Kubota M series with the same hours and HP would be well over twice that amount!!!
