LA364 Loader Quick Coupler

Tried calling the local Kubota dealer today to get a price on a B 1658 quick coupler and they don't even know what I'm asking about, that model # is no where in their system, has anyone else had the same problem and did you have to use a different model number or something like that. To floydc, would like to get some measurements of your quick coupler sometime to see if and how much I would have to remodel that B 1658 to fit onto my L2250 ( Loader# BF400G) Thanks, Dan

Sorry if this response is a few months late - but try checking the online parts section on the Kubota Tractor Corporation site - if you look in there you will be able to find the "longer" part number that I've seen the dealers use sometimes. Maybe they could look it up thru that.

I find it hard to believe they couldn't figure it out from the Kubota B1658 number though.

One of the replies had said that you had to search the parts diagram for the b3200 that has tha la504 loader and that it would fit the la364 as well. I just spoke with my dealer and he said that there is a new model out this yr that has the ssqa, skiddy type hook up. He said that he sold one for the la504 loader and if everyone is right this would fit the la364 too. Then he had a skiddy plate that you can buy for 165 you weld on any implements that are pin style and away you go. He cautioned going the pin style because you are limited to pin style implements where with the universal skiddy you can look anywhere, auction etc...... Let us know how you do. woodey24

Yes - that's pretty much correct. There's been a bunch of posts here with the details - but basically if a bucket will fit on an LA504 loader - it will fit on a LA364 loader. The pin spacings and bracket width etc. - are the same. There's a new loader that is coming on the Bxx50 tractors now - the LA524. That loader takes the same buckets as the LA504/LA364. So.... any QA that would fit on the LA504 - would fit on the LA524 - or vice versa.

The LA524 is coming with an SSQA style quick attach from Kubota - I believe it's an option. I bough one last summer and put it on my LA504 - it fit on just fine - and it appears to meet the SSQA standard - as I have bought a couple of "standard" SSQA attachments and hooked them right up to it with no problems.

Go read thru some of the older posts - I posted pics of the SSQA on my LA504 with some more details.

It's been one of the best mods I've done for the tractor - I can switch attachments off the loader now VERY quickly - it's definitely better than the pin-on style QA and it makes buying attachments for the loader a LOT easier. The only downside is - it's quite a bit heavier than the Kubota pin-on style QA.

I didnt know the weight diff. I would definetly buy a ballast for my 2920 to use much in the front. My dealer sold skiddy plates that could be welded to anything as I had said. I will be looking in to this over the next year. Then I could weld any snowblade to use nxt winter.

The Kubota SSQA setup weighs more than the regular pin-on type QA for sure. But they seem to have actually tried to keep the weight down. If you look at a lot of the aftermarket SSQA solutions for these size tractors - they weigh in quite a bit more. If I remember correctly the Kubota SSQA weighs in at about 75 pounds - some of the aftermarket SSQA adapters are double that.

If you're looking around at SSQA plates to weld onto implements or buckets so you can then use them on your tractor - I would be very careful of what you get - most of the SSQA plates I have seen are WAY overkill for these tractors - they use MUCH heavier gauge steel than they need to and they add a bunch of metal that probably doesn't have to be there. This just adds even more to the weight.

On my tractor (B3200) I think the advantages of the SSQA definitely outweigh the added weight and subsequent loss of lifting capability - but there have been a few times I've been trying to lift some REALLY big rocks and stumps - when it was obvious that another 100 pounds or so of lift might have helped, so I still try to be concious of just adding weight that is un-needed.

Hopefully your talking to the salesman and not the part's counter for that adapter. The sales dept. sells that type of stuff not the parts man.
Ebay is a good source for the weld on
Ssqa plate, 1/4" is all you need to convert a loader they are about $100

I was at a dealer in Chattanooga a couple of weeks ago and there was a Kubota rep there. He looked up the QA as a B1658 and said the dealer can order it and it was $285. Of course it doesn't come up in the Kubota parts lookup anywhere for the public. The long number (7J055-36104) comes up in the parts lookup but it's $450. ????

I am going to have to check my local dealer on that.

JRL305, I went to my dealer and requested the B1658 and it pulled right up. Price was around $268 if I remember right.

I called my dealer about 30 miles away. B1658 pulled right up. It's $285. He ordered it for me. No freight.

To get this clear in my mine before I call my dealer the B1658 is for the kubota skidsteer quick attach that goes on the tractor.

The other piece you will need is the plate that is place on the bucket after some modifications.

If that is it, I'm going to do the mod to my B2620 tractor. My neighbor offered me a straight blade for a skidsteer the other day. We help each other out, so there wasn't going to be any costs for the bucket. But I believe the most benefit from the skidsteer setup is the changing to front forks.

Very interesting thread, thanks for all of the info.

From they way I read this, this PN is for the pin type QA which isn NOT SSQA. I got this from the first page of the tread. If you look a little closer to this page, kubota has come out with a new QA that Jim_wilson has used that IS SSQA and can retrofit to your model. This new QA is used on the B2650 and B3350 tractors but all the dimensions are the same as yours.

Now my question if anybody knows is if this QA will work on an older LA352 loader which I have on my B2410. I think a set of forks would be very useful and I like the lighter weight of this type of QA. Any input would be great.

Thanks.

If you call your dealer and get a salesman, they can look it up for you. The parts dept. doesn't handle that part for some reason. I know the B1658 will fit a LA504 loader frame and that's what my B3200 and my neighbors B3300 have. The B1658 Quick Disconnect is a piece of steel on each side and a rod across between the two sides. I believe the SSQA is a huge plate.

hey Jim. You mentioned that you took off your pin-on type brackets. Any interest in selling them?

Actually - I never cut the brackets off any of my attachments. When I converted over from the pin-on QA on my loader to the SSQA style - I ended up selling the pin-on QA and the 60" bucket. I just bought new buckets for the SSQA setup.

What are you looking for - the QA setup itself - or some brackets like from a bucket?

How could you possibly take pin on brackets off of a bucket..:confused3: Mine are in dozens of pieces of scrap metal..and metal dust...I can't imagine someone able to get them off in a usable condtion.. it boggles my mind.

Carefully.

I just bought a concrete bucket - but the only one I could find with the appropriate capacity for a B3200 - is one meant for a mini-skid steer. I ordered one setup with the QA for a Toro Dingo - and I had to cut the QA off the bucket - and weld on an SSQA adapter.

maybe with a plasma cutter? ...or some other type of non condescending procedure. Sorry, but I AM not a "superstar member" ...JUST TRYING TO GET INFO AND NOT SPEND MULTIPLE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS as kubota would have you do.

I am looking either for the Kubota "quick Coupler" or a less expensive SSQA setup for a machine with a 1000# capacity.

I would add one other thing. I have the LA352 also, and you need to find pin-on forks also. The only one I could find was from ATI and they are over $1000

I cut the bracket off the concrete bucket I just bought with a grinder and two wheels: a thin wheel for most of the cuts - and then a 1/4" wheel for grinding down the weld along the top which was built up more than the others because the top edge was flat - whereas the other edges were rounded (because the piece was bent.

The welds only go in so far - so I carefully cut a slot into them on an angle I thought would cut the weld without going too far into the underlying metal. Unfortunately I did cut into the underlying metal some. When the piece wouldn't just fall off - I also used a 5 pound sledge to beat on it to see if it was at least coming loose and would move.

This was on a bracket though that was only welded around the edges - if you had a bracket that was held on by welding onto holes in the middle of it (I've seen some bracketry welded on like this) - then that would be harder. On cars - they sell small round cutters to take out spot welds. The same principle would likely work for a bracket that had holes welded up in it's middle. There's a hole drilling tool called Rotabroach that could be used just like the spot weld cutters that get used on auto body repair.

I would not use a plasma cutter to remove a bracket if you were trying to save it. Plasma cutters just cut right thru.

Does Kubota make a pin on QA adapter for the FEL on your B7610? The arm spacing on the different FEL models on Kubota tractors varies. The older tractors had FEL arms that were spaced out wider than some of the newer tractors.

If you wanted the cheapest QA for your tractor - it's likely going to be a pin-on style from Kubota. If Kubota did not make a pin-on QA for your tractor - you could likely adapt one from another tractor - even one with different arm spacing on the FEL. The Kubota pin-on QA has a cross bar that is just a round tube. As long as the width of the lower part of the FEL arms and the end of the upper bucket cylinder was the same as say the LA504 - you could possibly use a pin-on QA from an LA504 and adapt it to the FEL on your B7610.

You're going to have to measure up the FEL on the B7610 and see if it matches some other FEL that has a pin-on QA available from Kubota though.

The other option is to make up a SSQA for your tractor - the SSQA plates are available on Ebay - I bought a pair to make a SSQA to 3pt adapter for my tractor. They're decent quality.

If you could get some dimensions from your FEL - I could compare these and see if it would be possible to build up a SSQA for your tractor if you want to go this route.
