I was wondering if you still looking to buy into the US i am in the same situation as you, in Canada 15 acres looking for BX24 or b7510 or b7800 still waiting maybe in the next year. I observe a big variance into the Canadian pricing quotation for BX 24 at 24300CAD plus taxes = 27951CAD with taxes. Looking to some people in this forum that have quotation at 15500 USD wow a big difference at 1.15 ex rate it's 17800CAD. 6500CAD cheaper into the US market is a lot of money even if you d'ont have any warranty. What do you think guys.

Thanks!

Hey guys!!!

Well I pulled the pin today on my tractor, being delivered today before super. Thanks to all of you for helping me make my decision. I went with the B7800, loader and BH. The big sale was over on Dec 31 but I got the sale price anyways because it was quoted to me earlier. I'll be posting pictures when I can of my new money drainer! This put the wife's new SUV on hold for a bit so I'm getting a dirty look once in a while LOL.

BX 24 CANADIAN RETAIL
24500 CANADIAN DOLLARS

BX24 US RETAIL
15500 USD
1.15 EXCHANGE RATE US TO CAD
17825 CANADIAN DOLLARS

so we save 6675 canadian dollars to buy the bx 24 into the us market if you are from Canada.
Some people tell that if you are Canadian and you buy into the us market you will loose the warranty. My point is that even if you loose the warranty you save a lot? Second why there is such a difference between the canadian retail pricing and the us retail pricing?
By the way Taiser are you still looking to by your bx into the us market?

sorry for the previous post hope this one will clarify
Alain

I gave up on the US deal. The closest dealer to me was 3 hours (Duluth, MN), the dollar is losing value, I don't have a trailer or truck to pick it up and I'd still get charged GST and PST taxes crossing the border. All said I may have saved a thousand or so but then I don't have a warranty which for me is piece of mind for a grand or so. If a dealer was closer and I could swing by and pick the thing up myself I may have done it but in my case was not convenient enough to do.

Well, at least maybe you can dig your way out of that one now that you have a Back Hoe. Ha Ha.

Congratulations.

Well it got here in one piece :) just before supper. Got the walk through with all the features and took her to the back forty for a good test drive (which is not like the dealers lot). Only got about .2 hours on it but managed to try the loader and backhoe out real quick. First impressions...

WAYYYYYY smoother ride than the BX24 I tried, must be the bigger tires. Even over some rough areas wasn't much of a bounce, suspended seat is also pretty comfy, but it seams made out of regular seat material like on my Cub, hope it lasts a while without ripping.

Much quieter than I thought (dealer area was between buildings), with no building echoing the engine was really quiet, didn't expect that for a tractor with such a small muffler.

TONS of power, ground here is fairly frozen but I could still dig a small hole with no problem and driving with engine just above idle gave plenty of speed in medium gear. I made a beeline straight into the bush and it snapped all the spruces (frozen) no problem, popping them out of the ground next summer should be no problem.

Was dark by the time I got back so I couldn't take pictures. One thing I've heard and agree with is it REALLY DOES needs better lighting. I'll be looking at lighting options soon, speaking of which...

Does anybody know how to tell which alternator is installed on the machine? The one I have is gray like the engine so I imagine I have a standard one but I can't find the amp specs in the book, anyone know what they are? Don't think it will be a problem to fire an extra couple of light off of it, but would be nice to know.

Thanks, the wife shouldn't complain though, she got a car just two years ago. I never buy new cars, usually a year or two old, so she can't figure out why I'd buy this brand new. I told her vehicles we buy usually don't get kept for 25 years and to keep it that long I'd rather break it in myself :)

Congrats, the B7800 is a great machine.

ROPS lights are your nest step. Theres all kinds of ways to do it. I mounted 2ea 35watt TSC specials on the underside of the ROPS topbar and wired them into the OEM light switch. The switch easily handles the two ROPS lights and std lamps.
If I were to do alot of night work I'd probably think of changing them out to 55watt and disconnecting the OEM's.

Sounds like it's got the 15amp dynamo, but I don't know for sure. IF so then you can add two 35watt lights to your two OEM's and not overtax your dynamo. If you add two 55watt lights then you'd have to disconnect yur two OEM's.

Good luck & enjoy

Things not to do when you are landscaping!
You maybe have already seen these pictures, but they are cute!

I guess one should do a bit of thinking when it comes to lifting that big stump out of the ground?

Ok, I took some quick pics, I'll get around to taking better ones soon but I was home for lunch and took a couple.

Here's it is in it's new home, I got 9 foot garage doors so plenty of room to fit it in without folding the ROPS...

Backhoe attachment, was a bit concerned over the 3pt thing, but after looking at this pretty close it's pretty beefy looking so I'm not too worried...

And is this thing an alternator or a dynamo, I got a sinking feeling it's a dynamo, if it is does anyone know how much the alternator kit is for this?

Can't wait to really put this thing to work but I will miss how clean it is now, probably never see it like this again :)
