I have started to build a small trailer, 5x91/2 ft that might be something some of you might be able to build if you have the need. Mine is a tilt deck utility with short sides between the fenders and higher sides that hinge on the lower sides to widen the trailer and also make a flatbed out of it. I will be using it to haul my small kubota, and use it for rving too.
I can put gas and camping gear in the bottom part and close the top, which can be partialy closed to create a tent, to drive the bikes or 4 wheeler on top. If there is any interest I will put up some pics as I go

here are a couple of pics. Of course I still have the deck to bolt on and wiring and paint and a few things, but it does tilt nicely and the top deck is easily stowed or taken off for use of the lower bed.

Great pics of a great trailer!

I'm about to buy the only trailer I've seen where the standard one foot tall angle iron rails can come off by removing about 4 bolts. The trailer also has 2x4 stake brackets welded on, so you can build sides for your trailer if you like.

If I were building one, that would be more work to build, but I sure like the looks of it when buying.

Best wishes,
Ron

On a trailer this small I don't plan on putting brakes on it. the axle has a rating of 2000lb. I doubt that with load and trailer It will be past 1500 for my use.
It is surprising how much more time it takes to make the extra folding bed. More time than it takes to build the trailer frame and hang the axles because of frabication of hinges and pins and the like. This is the first one, so the rest will go much faster. Been a little head scratching on this one, but I am happy with the way it is turning out.
Thank you for your input.

Thanks rdbrumfield,

When I get the trailer, I'll post some close up pics of the rails fyi. It might be something you consider later. I couldn't find pics of it online.

Should have it in a couple of weeks.

Best wishes,
Ron
