I purchased one of the last round of "crate"
BX2230's my dealer had.
At the time, the normal price differential between the
BX1500 and the
BX1830 was $1,500 and it was another $500 to go from the
BX1830 to the
BX2230...no difference except a 20+% bump in HP
That said, the total incentives were $500 across the line that had been in place for a long time (and applied to the new ones at the time, I think) and another $1,000 to "clear the old tractor inventory". I was planning on spending ~$15k for my package on a
BX1500, so when I finally came to purchase, the theory is that I paid $500 for a nearly 50% bump in horsepower (22 vs. 15) because of the particular time I purchased (differential was $2,000 made $500 because of the $1,000 + $500 in incentives on the price at the time). I could have gotten my original (
BX1500) package for $13.5k, I guess, but since I sold the CFO on a budget, I got as much tractor as I could within said budget.
ALL THAT BEING THE CASE, that was a huge shift in model design. Old vs. new. I don't see this as being quite as dramatic, so I would not expect the same $1,000 incentive. And even in the previous case, $1,000 was all I ever saw as the difference until the last 'old' tractor was cleared off the lot.
Therefore, don't expect them to start giving away the
BX24 for $12k just because the
BX25 is on its way. Maybe $500, if even.
The $16.8k price is pretty decent. Base your decision on the knowledge that you probably won't see that ever go below $16k even if you wait until the 'new' model comes out and plan on the 'new' model to be closer to $17.5k.
Hope that gives you a little more specific information to process.
