New for 2016, JD changes warranty on CUTS

Just being released, JD is now going to increase their powertrain coverage on 1-4 series compact
tractors from 36 months up to 6 years/2000 hours!
I'm sure more details will follow, as this is a recent announcement.
Competition is good eh?

I suspect you are correct. Got to be a reason.

Looks like extra added incentive in addition to 0% for 60 months and bonus on attachments started a few months ago.

I think most all brands don't cover transportation or service calls.

I think this depends on your dealer. I have bought Deere and New Holland equipment and they would come out and fix the equipment at the farm free of charge.

My dealer will do warranty service on site but I wonder if they will rethink the policy with a 6 year warranty. However, a drivetrain warranty will probably have so few claims it won't be a big deal.

According to the preliminary release we got, this will go into effect for tractor sales
starting Jan 1, 2016. Again, these are preliminary reports but expect official release
any day.
Yukonhunter i would say that no, your 6 month old tractor won't fall into the new
warranty system.... i bet you could get a great trade value towards a new one though!!

I have seen some other dealers with it advertised already, especially non printed
ads like web or craigslist.

Large AG equipment sales are in the tank. Only thing selling is mowers and small tractors to hobby farmers. I bet this is part of the reason why.

My dealer says tractors purchased since January 1, 2016 are covered. So good news for me, I took delivery of a 4066r last Thursday.

My understanding it only covers the hard parts.
But you can buy an extended warranty with $250.00.
