Loader Pinging sound when loader under strain.

Hi all,

I have a 2010 BX2360. I did my 50 hr service a few months ago, with only a few hours (less than 20) since. Lately, I've noticed a pinging noise when I lift the bucket. More pronounced when cold. I checked the hyd fluid, and it looks fine. Clear and no where near empty.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this? Perhaps it's normal?

I would start by greasing all of the pins on the loader. It sounds as though your pins may be dry.

Thanks Dww68. Pretty sure its not in the mechanics of the loader. It "sounds" hydraulic - if that makes any sense. Also, greased everything shortly after the 50 hr service.

My BX2350 has the same issue. To me it almost sounds like a submarine ping. I seem to get it during hard usage , with the actual pinging happening on the next move of the boom/bucket immediately after a move that required a lot of force. I wonder if it may be from pressure being released.

Maybe mine is doing the same thing. When I'm really pushing the bucket into spoil and simultaneously curling/raising bucket I'll get a sort of pinging sound that I beleive to be coming from the hst. This seems to be more frequent when I'm going uphill into the spoil.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact the curl motion involves pressure on both sides of the cylinder rather than just one side. Maybe when the curl valve returns to neutral while under heavy load the pressure gets trapped. Then when the valve back to curl position under light load, the built up pressure in the cylinder is released and makes that sound.

That's just a theory though. I'm definitely not an expert on hydraulics.
