I have a Land Pride PHD10 with a 12 inch auger on it. I had broken the shaft that attaches the auger to the PHD. It hit a rock and snapped the shaft. I might have been looking at something else at the time OOPS! Here is what I need help with. I just went to JohnDeere ( LP Dealer) and they wanted 348.00 for the shaft! I bought it used for 400. So I really do not want to go that route. I then thought of maybe bringing the shaft to a machine shop to see if they could make one for a fraction of the price. I went to take the shaft out tonight. I removed the shaft and was alittle confused. I do not have any real understanding of gears. It looks like two bearings and a gear and attached to the shaft. Is this something that a machine shop can take off to look at the shaft, or do I need to bring it somewhere else to have the bearings and gear removed. I can't find my camera or I would send a pic. Please help!!!
