So far, it's way more capable than I am. Randy Lackender knows what he's about.

How goes the boxblade experiment?

Re: PowerTrac Customizations 3pt 5\' Box Blade Mod

I can pretty much tell that it is going to be too big. But I am going to do it anyway /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. Maybe tomorrow while the wife is away with the kids!

I'm trying to decide if I really want to weld the quick attach plate directly to the box blade. I found some heavy angle iron and think I might weld two pieces of that to the plate, then weld two more pieces to the box blade, then bolt it on. That way, I can remove it easier to experiment on other projects.

However, I might take Sunday afternoon off, as I was way too busy today and need some rest(see my post in the PT425 thread about a fun day).

MossRoad, how many extra quick attach plates did you purchase?

Re: PowerTrac Customizations 3pt 5\' Box Blade Mod

Rch - I'm not sure if this is what Rat was talking about or not, but the Europeans refer to what we term 4-in-1 FEL buckets as 6-in-1 buckets. For example, if you look at the EarthForce web site, you'll see that they offer a 6-in-1 bucket as an FEL option. I was confused about this when I first started looking at the EarthForce machines, but when I went to SC to look at them, I discovered that there's no difference. I guess the Europeans are just smarter than we are, and have discovered two more uses for them than we have. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Or maybe their marketing guys are more clever. Now there's a scary thought...

Just one. That's why I want to make it transferrable for experimentation. Then, if I find something that I really want to make permanent, I'll order another one for that specific implement.

Do any of you guys know what size hydraulic motor would be needed to power a tiller that has a 540 rpm input shaft? This is for a PT422 with 8 gpm @ 2500psi fluid output.

That would take some thinking. How big is the tiller? How many PTO HP are recommended by the manufacturer? Can the PT422 deliver that much HP through a hydraulic motor, etc... The folks at Power Trac should be able to help you with it.
