There are some guys around here that have the lower part of the body (from the body line down) sprayed with Line X or Rhino, even the front and rear custom bumpers. A couple of them even have it colored to match the truck. I think it looks pretty good.

Joe

I saw a F350 dually locally a few years ago that had the dually fenders- outside only- Rhino lined in black, it was a white truck. Could not figure out what the guy was going for, it looked like, well can't say it here:confused:

BUT !! I got the F-550 ever soo cheap, I think ? DUH LOL
I am really wondering If all of this is worth all the trouble ?
from reading the other threads with my door sticker that says 17,500 GVWR and my 14,000 capacity trailer.. And we can register a truck for less that the stated weight..
I will register it for 9,999 pounds and keep my fingers crossed
9,999 +14,000 = less than 26,000 pounds :D
heck, it could be for sale real soon Shhh

That truck would be very desirable and I would bet you could make much more money than you have into it. I'm keeping my eyes out for a diesel pick-up. All of my buddies that have diesels all tell me the same thing, buy a used one with a 7.3. I know many here may disagree, but many knowledgable diesel guys around here all say that the 7.3 was the last good diesel Ford put in a pick-up. Around here, guys that have them aren't getting rid of them and guys that don't have one are looking for them. Now a 550 with a box on it? Worth even more.

Just thought of an interesting question...

Will the floor of that bed support as much as the truck can haul?

Thank you Andy and defective, I don't think so unless it's like sheets of lead and spread out even. Truck weighs around 7,000 pounds and GVWR is 17,500, 10,500 in the bed? YIKES thats over 5 tons

Don't be so sure about how hard it'd be to overload...

Specific Gravity Weights Of Materials

hhhmmm...
about 15 cubic feet of cast lead...
18 cubic feet of copper...
21 cubic feet of steel...
63 cubic feet of aluminum...
a load of neatly stacked bricks...

Rough estimate from memory, but a typical full-sized pickup bed holds close to 60 cubic feet to the rails.

Heck, a full bed load of typical gravel weighs around 3 ton.

Interesting site. The most I have put in the bed of a pick up a long time ago was 50 concrete blocks estimated weight=2,000 pounds and it was a 6 cylinder 1/2 ton

Who knows how much a sheet of plywood weighs?
1/2 OSB
3/4 T&G
1/2 PT
I always go by 25 pounds per 1/4 inch of thickness as a general rule
:)

Don't know about regular plywood, but the advantek I used for the upstairs floor in my barn is labeled at 75lbs a sheet. That can get heavy in a hurry.

I can't remember the total weight but we normally haul a full lift of OSB (64 sheets) in the box of the F-250's. The one kid at Home Depot in all his brilliance argued with us that the truck would hold the weight. When the back forklift lowered down and pushed the load forward the truck wasn't even touching the helpers:rolleyes:

Your doing a great job on your truck and unless you get some solid chunks it will be hard to overload your truck.

Thank you Robert, my wife had a week off and we just moved some stuff to the other place and I let her catch up on her soaps :D
I still have lots more to do and the center bed mount is giving me a hard time Grr I'll get it, we did get one of the fenders hung with a couple of straps to see how close it was to be
Did I mention that I am in no hurry
