I'm partial to Land Pride, and I would go with a blade that will cover your tracks when at a 45 degree angle. (7 footer) But you definitely need at the minimum, a medium duty blade. If you have rear remotes, maybe think about getting a blade with hydraulics, they sure are nice to have. :D

I agree. Landpride stuff is pretty heavy built.

I have a Ford rear blade #19 344 6' blade that is no means light duty. When I broke my pin off, I drilled all the way thru it and put a larger 1 1/2" pin in it's place. That puts the pin weld on top of the stationary part away from where the blade is trying to swivel. The pin you are breaking is probably being screwed up by where the weld is, and if anyone is trying to cool it with water after the weld, which will make it brittle.

Now it makes sense to me that TSC rates their implimants for 35HP, I also ripped one of the ripper teeth on my KK box blade right thru the steel channel it was mounted to, I still need to re enforce it, probably a winter project.

Yep, I'm seeing a big price gap from $400 to $500 standard duty to the medium and high at $900 to $1,200.:(

A good heavy duty rear blade will cost you well in excess of $2000.

Check around at auctions - the solid steel in the 1/2 heavy duty blades go for about $800 - if you can find them.

I've been looking around town and found a land pride for 949 and saw on the web a KK for about the same. Are these not Heavy Duty? I'd like to make sure before I spend that much.

Also, if you look at the one add, its a 2006 model so its been sitting out for a while.

We have the 72" version of that blade that we use behind our Kubota L3830 and have had no problems with it. seems quite heavy.
