Wow a 20 year old NOS rubber hose? Is there a date of mfg on that package?I found it at the dealership I bought the tractor at 20 years ago. In stock!
Yes, That's what I would've done! That hose is a wear part and will eventually break again; should've gotten a spare whilst one could! Else you're going to be doing what's already been mentioned - "fabricating" some type of replacement!Wow a 20 year old NOS rubber hose? Is there a date of mfg on that package?
Did you get two? Freeze one for next time?
At $75 per replacement, fabricating an alternative NOW might be a reasonable approach. Esp if it gets More Scarce over time (likely, right?)Yes, That's what I would've done! You're probably right ptsg, but since we never know "when" these unusual fitment pieces are going to become unobtainable - I'd sure get a spare or 2 now! Just to be safe. There is a $35 and a $45 alternative for the hose. I wouldn't panic so fast yet. The same hose is used on other models still made today with the A1700 engine that uses two separate hydraulic pump instead of the tandem pump setup on the A2000 and A2300 engines.
That's true indeed but I wouldn't bother too much being a rubber part stored for a long time. As long as it doesn't see direct sun light, it should still last a long time. You're probably right ptsg, but since we never know "when" these unusual fitment pieces are going to become unobtainable - I'd sure get a spare or 2 now!
