Caterpillar 416C IT, Caterpillar D3G, previously owned a Ford 1910
Has anyone else noticed that when the days started getting shorter so did tempers on the forums? My brother recently told me that he was diagnosed with SAD. I'm beginning to think it's more prevalent than people think.

But Dec 21 was the last day.
Days have been getting longer since then.
Here, we've gained 27 minutes of daylight.

It's been discussed before.

Taking out the occasional HST vs. Gear or Green vs Orange arguement/discussion--it's relatively easy to agree on tractor related items.

But as people get their tractor questions answered (or in the case of the winter months where there is less use of tractors and subsequently fewer questions) people tend to still hang around the site and conversation in the Related, Photo and Rural Living sections pick up. Subjects discussed in these forums are typically more polarized or emotional in nature. As a result--you get many opinions and sometimes arguements.

Adding to this is the fact that this "family" has grown. When families grow, you get more diverse opinions. Not necessarily a bad thing, but one that's sure to impact non-tractor threads.

I found years ago that a week in the warm weather mid winter makes a big difference on the rest of it. February is the best time for it as there isn't much winter left! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yeah, it happens. There's really only so much we can do on a direct level, to make people get along. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

We don't want to have to look at every sentence and word and make a judgment as to whether that's going to stir up trouble. Also sometimes there are insider jokes that to an outsider might look like a blatant insult---when in reality it's all in fun. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My main suggestion is polite mention if another member carries a tone that's a little less than friendly---sometimes it's not intentional at all.
