$64K to me is about 5 trucks. I think anyone spending $64K for a truck is nuts...especially knowing that it dropped 20% of it's value as soon as you drove off the dealer's lot.
Now, I don't buy any vehicles new...just not interested in the initial cost and depreciation.
I'm fine with the horsey crap through...part of rural life, especially if you own horses.

Roy,I'm with you. Last new vehicle I bought was in 95. Looking around at 07 Dodge diesels. They are asking more today, than I paid for My 07 Dodge diesel 3 yrs ago ?

I was looking at some used family haulers, namely the Journey, and noticed that for the price of a good low mileage one, I could buy brand new... In fact, depending on the deal, payments would be lower than used due to a better interest rate!

Only 5? I splurged last year and bought one for $5500. It has working air and comfy seats. Now I'm spoiled!

To the OP, I'm glad you've got a truck you like, even if we rib you a bit for it.

Well, I guess my post got deleted.

Average age of a vehicle today is 12.5 years versus 6 years old just 6 years ago. Reason is the economy and necessity. I agree new vehicles are amazing but people are not holding onto them for that reason, its the economy.

This month has been the best for car dealers since Cash For Clunkers. I see junk with 200,000 miles demanding top dollar because there are few good used cars.

My vehicles are worth more now than 2 years ago because they are relatively low miles, clean, and in excellent condition and the demand has driven the prices up. This hurts the low income folk the most but I don't see things changing any time soon.

I might be in the minority but a truck is a tool. If its too nice to get the interior dirty it's too nice to use. Way too many garage queen / suburban haulers out there. You paid big money for its capabilities. Use it, then clean it up later. With fuel prices today, you only buy/use a truck when you need it. Otherwise drive a gas sipper.

My grandfather used to buy a new truck. Take it home and throw a cement block into the back, maybe bounce it off the top rail. He would say "There..... Now you can use it."

Guess you can tell I'm not into impressing others, just getting the job done.

I bought a new one in 2011 but nothing close to $64,000. Thought of spending that much makes me really like my '95 Chebby w/200,000 + miles that still runs and drives good.
