Shipping container for tractor storage

I store fuel in my 8x8 shed. It has lots of ventilation (because I'm a sh!tty carpenter and never built a shed before) and doesn't get nearly as hot as the shipping container in sun. Regardless of temp, I wouldn't want fuel cans in the closed up shipping container...all those fumes with little to no ventilation.... Mine has the very tiny condensation or pressure vent, but it's not enough to really do anything for fumes or heat buildup.
Plan this spring is to paint mine a lighter color. Something like coyote tan. Light enough to help cool it off some but not white so it stands out real bad. Mine is placed in a spot that isn't isn't highly visible from outside my property, but white would stand out. Might cut in some actual container vents if I see one that looks wasp proof

I keep looking at them on Craigslist. Only problem is I don't know about county regs, like if I can call it temp or portable and not get permit. Since we just pulled permits to build the house we'll have inspectors around too much to "just forget to ask".

Oh I just noticed you're right down 85 from me. I'm in Jackson county. Guessing you're not in Gwinnett if no worries about permits.

One trippers are designed to be built overseas, loaded with freight, then sold into the storage/rental business upon arrival in the western hemisphere. You'll note the door handles are set a comfortable waist height versus very low handles on cans used repeatedly for shipping. Those cans are loaded/unloaded while on special trailers so handles are placed where you can reach them from the ground.

Protecting your tractor is indeed smart.
I use two containers.
One on the left side & one on the right.
Built a roof over the open span. Very simple & it works.
Sure the ends are open but it stays in Florida. We could always use that thick ''see through'' hanging plastic but our tractor is just short of 20 ft long when the back hoe is locked to one side. It is out of the wet part of weather there.
Keep in mind there are 20 ft length & 40 ft nearly all steel shipping containers.
Some have barn doors on both ends.
Usually there are only one set of barn doors on one end.
The refrigerator units have the barn doors on one end & a removable compressor w/ its fans etc on the other end.
I have seen these as drive through shelters for other equipment, such as lawn service equipment.
These containers are also made of a lot of stainless steel & aluminum so there is usually less rusting.
Would suggest, to reduce the floor from rusting out (very common when set on the bear ground for long periods of time), use cinder blocks to elevate the container to better permit dry air circulation.
