"Did you know on old Caterpillar dozers you adjust the tracks by pumping grease in a canister with a hand grease gun?? "
It's not just cats, my IH dozer had the grease adjusted track tensioner too. Sometimes you needed to loosen the tracks and to do that you removed a 3/4 inch plug from the grease cylinder. All that track tension sure blew the plug out of the hole with a healthy pile of grease to deal with. Not sure I've ever seen a different method of track tightener.
I dinged a brass zerc on my steering linkage and just nicked the head enough so that grease squirts out past the zerc aned not in through it. I bought the zerc kit from HF but they are all course threaded. The Kioti's are fine threaded and I am having a tough time finding a replacement. Is there a special fine threaded metric zerc?
