Amazon will kill many stores like TSC.

TSC is opening more stores all the time in Texas.

You will do better at your local farmers co-op called WILCO. We have one up here and they run circles around the two TSC stores in the area. Bulk bolts are 30% cheaper and larger selection. Way over priced on everything. WILCO also gives a 10% military discount which TSC refuses to match. Big deal for me.

We have 2 Tractor Supply stores here in Tyler. The original store in Tyler is pretty bad. I haven't been in there in years. The newer store is on the other side of town, and much nicer. If I need something from TSC, I go to the new store.

We also have an Atwoods, and it's twice as big with better prices. The only reason to go to Tractor Supply is if it's something that they are the only place that sells it. I'm at Atwoods once a week. I've been to Tractor Supply 3 times this year.

I get the wife to drop me off at Northern Tool on the rare times she needs to go to the Broadway mall in Tyler. I’ve never been to the Atwood’s in Tyler but they are getting more prevalent in East Texas. Not so much in Central Texas or the Coast that I have seen.

TSC has been vacuuming up smaller chains for a while now. Problem is, instead of leaving them alone, they make them a mirror image of their company stores and in reality TSC ain't very good.

Like the Cabelas / Bass pro deal. I don't shop either anymore.

I feel the same, but have learned not to say that in circles I keep.
For 15 years my employer had given Cabelas gift certificates for Christmas... I’ve asked them to try someplace else this year. Cabelas was always a great mail order vendor, yet now seem to be pushing toward “pickup” at their retail stores. I dropped a note telling them that there are hundreds of sporting goods shops between here and their nearest store... the likelyhood of me driving 250 miles to shop there is about the same as of me getting a hole-in-one.
