As seen on the trails near here today. These are all .155 string heads.

My wife does the weed trimmer work here, and uses the Echo 0.155 3-line head. Used to use the bump and it never held up; she does have to stop a bit here and there to put in new lines but it works the best we've found (she tried a head that has some plastic serrated knife things but while it works fantastically for a bit your throughput sucks because they do break).

Agree with the fiskars gear lopper - it's amazing; if you can fit the jaws around a branch, it'll cut it easily (unless it's dry oak, don't be ridiculous). The blade on mine may need replacement, it's got a wave in a spot idk what from. Still lops really well.

Fiskars is definitely a stand-up manufacturer - we have I think it's called "ez reach pruning stik" which through my own abuse ended up with a broken pull string. I disassembled it to see what was wrong with it, then called them and asked them to send me a new string. They sent me an entirely new pruning stik instead! so I went to the hardware store and found a similar paracord and gave the old one to my daughter :D

I'm looking at setting up a trail between a fence and an irrigation canal; there's 3-5 feet of width and it overgrows rapidly with blackberries. I suspect I just need to blast it with the trimmer more often as I don't care to poison my land...

We dont really have much scrub here in the mountains of CO. The most we get is Juniper which will see your weed wacker and send it packing. Thumb on the backhoe works great though! Thanks for posting these ArlyA!

Might take us a while before we got out again since we are heading to northern MN for a few days. If anyone has machines for, or been out doing trail work, please post photos. Or if anyone has any questions, just post them..

Let me add, we have been so, so happy with the utility of this 6x6 it having a box, small size on narrow trails, push snow with it and all. We are looking at replacing it with a more powerful and newer version. Its one of the best trail tools we've owned.
