    Yet another newbie with questions..

My tractor is a Yanmar YM1510D. It has a 3PH that takes standard Cat 1 implements. I have a 5' finish mower, a 42" brush mower, a 4' box blade, 5' rear blade and a post hole digger. No problems handling any of those implements. It has 15 PTO hp and about 18-19 engine hp. It does quite a bit...

    Hydraulic pump problem

I was unloading mulch from my trailer yesterday with my 1510D when I realized I was leaking hydraulic fluid. It is coming out of the bottom of the hydraulic pump where the 4 bolts are. I tried tightening the bolts but that only stopped one from leaking. And I broke another which should be fun...

    Odd grease zerks

I have a grey market Yanmar with a Kanzaki loader. I have had trouble getting the zerks on the loader to take grease. So I decided just to replace them. Here is where I have a problem. I fully expected them to be metric zerks (10mm). Well, the guy at NAPA measured them and says they are 3/8...

Idea to make hooking up 3ph attachments easier - would this work?

Ok I'm going to try to attach a very crude drawing of what I did. I used swivel caster wheels with 3/8" bolts and washers. By putting the side 2x6s on top of the front/back ones I could attach the wheels where I've shown on the pic and not worry about the bolts sticking up. I then hooked up...

    block heater?

Is anyone using any type of block or radiator hose heater on their Yanmars? I'm not certain but my tractor does appear to have at least one freeze plug. A radiator hose heater may not fit on it. I have considered a magnetic heater for the oil pan but I'm not sure it would be effective when...

    Winterize my H?

Is there anything special I need to do for my H this winter? I have an engine block heater for the Yanmar but since the H is a gas engine I'm thinking it doesn't need one. It will be used throughout the winter and if I go for more than a week without using it due to weather, I was planning on...

Rear Blade  price on frontier rear blade

I have the opportunity to buy a 5' Frontier rear blade for $300 (new). I think this is a good price for it, but thought I'd ask here for other opinions. I will be using it mainly for snow removal. It looks like it is easy to turn the blade around. 5 forward and 5 reverse settings.

    Look what I drove today

As many of you know, I bought a Farmall H a few weeks ago. I had gone into the local Case/IH dealer to find out how friendly they would be about getting parts when I needed them, and the salesman and I decided we liked each other. We've been dating a couple weeks and today he asked if I wanted...

Rear Blade  rear blade Bush Hog vs. King Kutter

I would like to get a rear blade for snow removal. A 5' KK blade is $228 at TSC. I have the opportunity to purchase a 5' 20 series Bush Hog blade for $325. I don't know if the $325 is a good price or not. The dealer says it is discounted because it is faded from being on the lot for a year...

    choke rod farmall H

Can anybody post me pics of how the choke rod should go on the Farmall H? I bought one on ebay for the tractor but need a couple of good pictures to help me put it on right. I can't find anything on the internet.

    lean to for extra storage

I would like to build a lean to on my corncrib to gain some extra storage. It would be probably 15' or 16' wide by 24' long. My question is that I was planning just to hang some joists (vertical) with purlins (horizontal) for the roof, which would be metal. I was thinking 2x6 joists with 2x4...

Can my tractor pull this spreader?

I have a Yanmar 1510D. Right now I use it to load my manure spreader and I hook the spreader up to my truck. I have been considering adding a second tractor for pulling the spreader (old ag tractor). If I put a jack on this tongue, do you think I could hook it to my tractor after it's loaded? I...

    tractor recommendation

I am considering buying an old ag tractor for pulling my manure spreader. Right now I'm pulling it with my truck (need my tractor to load it and can't pick it up to hook up to the tractor when it is loaded). It is an old spreader, probably a New Idea from the 50s. I was all set to buy a 1940...

Buying Advice  Need advice on steering

I am about to change the front tires on my 1510D because they are seriously worn and cracked. While I have the tractor jacked up I am wondering if there is anything I can do to adjust the steering? While on grass or dirt I have no problems with it. But, on pavement I get the sway back and...

    How to trap a skunk

I haven't seen it yet but I'm 95% sure there is a skunk in my corncrib. A couple times this week when I went in to get the tractor I smelled skunk. Today when mowing, as I went past it on the tractor it totally reeked of skunk. And, yes, it is more overpowering than diesel. Then when I put...

    power painter for tractor

Chains 1510 owners on sway chains

Here is a pic of the drawbar. It is 1/2" stock. You will need 3 12mmx40mm bolts with lock washers (I put on regular washers too). If anyone wants the dimensions, let me know and I'll see if I can draw them on the pic, or make a drawing that shows them.

    sway chains

Hi, I have a Yanmar YM1510D and need sway chains on my 3ph. Without them implements sometimes hit or even get stuck in my rear tires. Apparently there is nowhere to attach them on the 1510. Hoye tractor used to sell adapters for this model for sway chains but does not know when he will make...

I need sway chains on my 1510D because I keep having implements move over and hit my rear tires. Apparently the 1510 is rather tricky to put them onto. I was going to order those adapters from Hoye but he doesn't know when he will make more because he only sells about 3 sets a year. To be...

    opinion on tools

I am in need of larger metric sockets and wrenches for my tractor. I received a flyer from Harbor Freight last week that had a 3/4 inch metric socket set for $49. My neighbor says I don't need a 3/4" socket set, to look for a 1/2" set. HF doesn't have one. I liked the price but then again...

    ROPS for ym1510d

HI, I'm new to the forum, and to tractors in general. I just bought a 1510D with a FEL and being a gray market tractor it doesn't have a ROPS. I was wondering how necessary it is. I live in NW Ohio, which is as flat as Kansas so I'm not using it on much of a slope. I know a lot of people are...
