1900 Ford
Ford 1900 is a workhorse
Model Year: 1982

I bought this tractor used with 398 hours on it and have added another 1000. Still has plenty of life left. I've pushed it way beyond reasonable limits at times and on occasion paid the price (for repair), but the tractor itself has been great. Other than changing fluids and filters I've only had to replace a water pump to date.

Pros: 4sp transfer case, economical
Cons: Tight getting on/off

Great Little Tractor
Model Year: 1980

Only problem I have is that it overheats in summer. I think this is because it has only had water without any additives as the cooling medium. Hydraulics filter is in a ridiculous place. Operator position is a bit tight.

Pros: Economical running.
Cons: Overheating.

Ford 1900 4WD
Model Year: 1997

Got a well used Ford 1900 4WD with loader. 3 cyl. Shibaura Diesel and auto trans. Tractor starts, runs well, has plenty of power to run implements needed. LOVE the 2 stage clutch and 4WD. Plan on using the loader to clean barn stalls and for snow removal in the winter. No issues so far, seems to be a decent built tractor.

Pros: 4WD, diesel, 2 stage clutch.
Cons: Seems a bit warm blooded, takes a few minutes to start in cold weather.

Ford 1900 4WD

Bought the tractor relatively cheap. $5400 and came with FEL. Used one summer just fine. Then had to change the double clutch. Could not have done it without the help I got on this forum. Did some other minor stuff. Works fine now.

Pros: Small enough to work on. 4WD helps quite a bit.
Cons: Uses a lot of diesel when under a load, unlike my Kubota.

Ford 1900 2wd
Model Year: 1983

I have already put 29hrs on it in a very short time and not one complaint about the quality. It does grind when I engage the pto, but I am having that fixed. It has good power, low end torque. Great tractor for small place. I bush hog with a 4ft King Kutter. I disk with a 16 tine disk, I plow with a small cultivator, I scrape the driveway with a 5ft scrape blade. It does what I bought it to do.

Pros: Low end torque, small.
Cons: None.

Tractor
Model Year: 1990

It's a great tractor for my use. It has a backhoe on it so it does a lot. I mainly use it for spreading grave in my drive way, picking up brush around the yard. It is small and gets around all my stuff in the property. Starts right up and is good on fuel. I love it.

Pros: Size.
Cons: None.

Good Tractor
Model Year: 1979

Purchased with hydraulic leak in one cylinder on loader. Fixed that easy. Used approximately 50-70 hours shredding. Clutch started slipping. In process of changing clutch and stuff now. will get parts today (11/02/2012). also having radiator done. water pump coming also, but tractor not over heatin'. preventive maintenance.

Pros: Good unit.
Cons: Bought used, really can't complain.

Best Tractor for the Money!
Model Year: 1982

I got my Ford 1900 used from a private seller, only had 1320 hours on it and looked like it was brand new. The only issue that was wrong with it was the front grill had been smashed and was broken but still in place. Also, the bottom edge of the hood had started to rust through, I ended up taking the hood to a welder and it was fixed for 60 bucks! Bought a perforated metal sheet and made my own front grill, much sturdier and it looks great! Some parts are getting harder to find for this model also are pretty expensive! But overall the tractor starts up every time. I went with the older model to get the reliability and I did not need all the extra crap that comes with the new tractors, I grew up on a clutch tractor and have no issues with it. Also the clutch is butter smooth on this tractor!

Pros: Compact, great clutch, a lot of power.
Cons: A few cheap parts on the tractor.

So Far So Good
Model Year: 1980

Bought the little 1900 with a loader at auction and paid a bit more than probably worth. Was close enough to home to drive it so convenience was a plus. Changed all the fluids and cleaned the hydraulic filter (mess) and it's a fine running, powerful little machine. Just right for what I need and I'm pleased not to have spent 3x on a new one.

Pros: Small, powerful, 4x4.
Cons: None yet.

1900 Ford
Ford 1900 4 Wheel Drive (1980 Model)
Model Year: 1980

We bought this tractor used in 1988. Though 8 years old, it had less than 500 hours, mainly bush hogging. Through the years it has been our primary, then secondary, now back to primary tractor, tilling a 5-6 acre market garden (with a 60" rotovator) along with some bush hogging duties (60 " Bush Hog-came with the tractor.) It has been a gutsy little tractor, more industrious than I would have ever imagined 23 years ago.

Pros: Fuel efficient, durable, dependable.
Cons: No power steering, water pumps don't hold up well (and have gotten very expensive).

Solid Old 1900
Model Year: 1979

I bought this thing to mow the 2 acre yard and hog 8 acres across the road we own as well as keep the food plots up on the lease. It is a 30yr. old tractor and I keep that in mind when I tackle a task. This old tractor has done every thing I have asked of it, I especially like the 12 speed tranny. It will handle 5ft cutters though I use a four footer to squeeze though trees. I mow the yard with a 5 ft finish mower and could run a 6ft with ease . some wheel weights would be nice when plowing plots but is not a real problem. It is just a solid tractor!

Pros: Dependable.
Cons: No power steering.

1900 Ford
Good 30 HP Tractor
Model Year: 1980

A good running, 30 hp tractor that does everything I need it to. Runs a 5' brushhog with ease, starts easy with glow plugs. Has good weight and size. Definitely worth the money I paid. Paid about the same as what 8n-9n, to30's go for and yet much newer technology. Only issues I have is temp gauge doesn't seem to work properly (which is common on these tractors) and power steering should be stronger (also common on these tractors). Other than that, a great tractor.

Pros: Good power, starts great, easy to use.
Cons: Power steering, temp gauge.

Haven't spent a whole lot of time on machine but it overheats a little. To make matters worse, the temperature gauge just broke, making accurate temperatures hard to know.

Pros: Cranks everytime, good fuel economy.
Cons: Gauges already broken.

Ford 1900
Model Year: 0

I bought my ford 1900 two years ago it was sucking motor oil through a bad seal on the hydraulic pump. That was a simple fix. Mine has the 771 front end loader. As a heavy equipment operator, I'm naturally cautious. When lifting heavy material such as wet manure if the bucket is not evenly loaded you can very easily flip your tractor over. Mine does not have a ROPS structure. Be careful guys it only takes a few moments to be safe!

Pros: Good power; reliable.
Cons: Parts are very expensive if you can find them.
